I usually fold the first few hands no matter what they are.. theres too many people trying to double up quick and you never know what they have

I've read some articles about freeroll, and they tend to say that it's a good strategy to start a freeroll and try to get a big stack quickly. If you loose, you don't have lost anything and if you win, your in good position to make it far enough to get in the money.

Personnaly, I don't use this technique since I'm playing freeroll mainly to get some practice.

Whether this is a good strategy depends on how any individual defines good. I've tried both ways, and I prefer trying to play as well as I can every time. The people who use the all-in early strategy end up losing all their chips early probably three-quarters of the time if not more. Sometimes, I'm the one who gets them

I try to play a free roll as I would any other tourney. Like another poster said, it's a good way to practice. That said, it is difficult to decipher what others may be holding because not everyone plays a free roll legitimately.

It's pretty simple - If you want to stay alive in trnys - don't call pre-flop all-ins - unless you're severly short-stacked or have the other dude covered at least 4/1 (3/1 if you're good at keeping your tilt in check)

Doesn't matter if you have AA KK - they're not drawing hands - a majority of the time you'll be stuck with a high pair

I called today - what I was pretty sure was AA and KK (and I was right) at Betfred with 89d - I was shortstacked like hell but outdrew them both for a straight - not that this was a sound play but sometimes you're desperate

Today was a good day made one final table and one in the money - time to hit the sack!
