Paypal & Poker?
Hi,
Are there any poker sites out there that except paypal for depositing?
And what are the smallest deposits allowed at poker rooms? At the casinos i frequent the lowest is $20, some are $50. What about poker sites?
Thanks for your time and info

I know of Casinos that offer Paypal, but only for players outside the USA...Paypal banned gambling transactions way back in (I think) it was 2002, and were the first to do so. American Express was the next to follow...
I've seen some sites that have a way of getting around the AMEX block, but not any poker rooms...
I know if you get a reloadable Netspend Visa card ( www.netspend.com) you can load funds on it via Paypal, but it's not instant, as it's an ACH transfer from your bank to paypal and so forth...but I've never had my Netspend card denied at any poker room or casino (yet.)
If you have Paypal funds that you want to use for Poker, what I would suggest is finding a friend that you really trust that has an account on a poker site that you're on, then transfer that money from your paypal account to theirs, and then have them use their funds on that poker site to initiate a player to player transfer of that money on that poker site. I know that PokerStars and Full Tilt allow player to player transfers, and I'm sure there are many others that do, as well...
edit: The min. deposits that I know for a fact are: PokerStars: $10 (CC) $100 (WU) $25 (Instant E-Checks) Full Tilt: $50 (CC), not sure about the other methods and finally, Doyles Room, which is $30, for all deposit options.
For PokerStars, I think the minimum for player to player transfers is $10. To do this, just click on "Requests" then "Transfer Funds."

Re: Paypal & Poker?
I love the fact that you can use player transfers! I wish casinos had that option, i never see that at any of the casinos i have played at. I never thought of that Don, thanks for the info, i will be handy to know. I did Know the paypal thing with casinos, didn't know that poker sites banned it to. I do have a wired plastic, and used to have neteller, which was fantastic, and that really hurt when they pulled out of the US.
Whats your user name at Poker stars?? Mine is giggles7p, maybe i will see ya there.

I think you had meant to thank "beaston" for this info.
He does more surfing to collect data on that for which you seek.
Plus he's been in many more online money tourneys than I have.
I play for free money most all of the time and in the freerolls.
I use the same name there as I do here, without the underscore.
It would be fun if all of us could get in the same game together.
Throw out some help while playing at the same table, perhaps in a free money 6 person tourney.
They have several catagories at PS.

Re: Paypal & Poker?
OH wow, i am so used to you Don, answering me i didn't even notice that Beaston snuck in!!
THANK YOU BEASTON!!
Now, i play in the free games and freerolls at Pokerstars too! lol
I won't play for real money yet until i am sure of myself and can play good enough. I understand the game just fine, but its the way people play that i am paying attention to.
I would love to play a game with everyone here. Lets pick a night or day, or whatever, and plan to meet at a certain table at a certain time and go for it! it would be a blast.
I am so looking forward to this.
I think i am going to make a post announcing this to see how many people we can get to join us! what do you think ?
Pat

Re: Paypal & Poker?
I noticed at Poker Stars .net is mostly free games and play money. That's where I hang out.
I haven't opened up my .com games yet, but will do that some day.
The only way I can make a deposit there is with a credit card at this time.
Beaston, what other deposit methods can U.S. players sign up for to use at Poker Stars?

For Americans, just credit/debit cards (MC/Visa/Diners club) western union, and instant e-checks (my fav )
Also, you can use your .net login for the .com site, too

That's great. I may have to check out the e-checks and see if I can play with a few of the pros.
My wife has already shown me which kind of tables Not to play at. But if I get down to a few bucks, I may have to play at the lower $ tables.

The minimum deposit via e-checks is only $25, which makes it nice
They hold the amount of your e-check deposit for 10 days to give it time to clear, and during this time you can cash out any amount minus your deposit; so that's pretty good, as well..

Re: Paypal & Poker?
Wow Beaston, that is nice to know.
I have never played at .net? always at .com, and i play in the freerolls and play games there to. so we could still have a game thats free at either place!
I just played for the first time at Reefer Poker the other night, had a good time, it was the staff against us affiliates and i ended up in 30th place..lolllllll
better luck next time.
