Default Trickiest hand in holdem?

Damn it's hard to play the pocket jacks...

How do you guys go about it? I'd say JJ and 55 are the hands I've lost the most with...

Lately I've started to fold JJ...honestly...sometimes it feels like it isn't even worth to call the blinds with...somehow some jerk with K 4 always beats you...

Position my friend. Early I may give a small bump like 2x bb. I'll usually just call from anywhere else. When you see the flop if it's all 10 and below, hit it hard with big bet. By big bet i mean big too another player. Like half of his chips. That bet should eliminate any K4o callers. If you get paint, then I usually just call until the river. It going to depend on a lot of factors. is the table weak? Are the players playing tight? Are you playing a school of fish who bet the farm with A7o? Are your opponents who are still in the hand on a winning streak? With any over sized bet with paint on the board and I usually fold Jacks. Remember you can't win the tourney by winning just one hand. It may be a tough lay down but, you gotta think big picture. How deep into the tourney have you already played? On a tough lay down I usually put a note a player. I want to remember to pay him back later. It sucks to be beaten by a fish. It hurts to be beat by someone who is smarter. The fish win you chalk up to luck. the sharks win makes you reevaluate your whole game. I have a lot of notes out there and personal points to make.If not this tourney cause I get moved, then the note will remind me later in another tourney. Then i will make sure they remember the birdshow. hehehehehe

Ok, Bird, what the heck kind of notes do ya got on the old Granny here, because you seem to like kicking me to the curb....where did I do you so wrong? LOL!

I tend to like Jacks...and yes, it really is hard to fold em, but I have lost tons of chips to most pocket pairs...seems I never get anything to go along with them or if another pair shows on the board, then the person I'm playing just made trips, so I go back to my old standard, I really despise pocket pairs of any kind!!!!

Geez Bird, a serious and well-thought through reply ? I'm in shock

Kidding, thanks for your input. This whole topic stems out of a bit of frustration - but now me and them old jackladdies are mates again.

My notes on Granny are: "Let her have some small pots - she'll take herself out eventually anyway"

On the topic of folding: I watched the WSOP 2005 Circuit event from Atlantic City yesterday - where Little Nicky (or Big Nicky you choose) laid down QQ preflop - in a millisecond without blinking - that's one of the 1 000 000 differences between me and a pro...
