This is sad news indeed. Before I any further, let me reiterate that they have only stopped taking
new players that reside in the USA. If you already have an account with one of these casinos and/or poker rooms, you're ok, and there's no need to worry.
Who do you have to thank about this?
Govenor Beshear. If it wasn't for his
GREED, none of this would be happening right now. There are many ways to boycott Kentucky, even if you don't live there.
One great site with tons of information on how you can chip in to hurt Kentucky where it counts (their wallet) is
http://boycottkentucky.com/ . You'd be amazed at how many big named companies have their HQ in Kentucky - UPS' main air shipping hub and Lexmark, to name a couple. Did you also know that 95%+ of Bourbon comes from distilleries located in Kentucky? A complete list of Bourbons, and where they're made can be found at this
wiki page.
Here's the complete list of properties that are affected by this. Hopefully this will blow over after the domain forfeiture hearing scheduled for December. Cross your fingers. At this point, I wouldn't worry about any casinos and/or poker rooms pulling out of the USA altogether. It's going to be a bumpy ride for awhile, but we'll get past it.
By the way, if you want to call Gov. Beshear's office and let them know how you feel about what they're doing, be my guest. Their phone number is 502-564-2611. Don't be afraid to call if you're overseas - just don't forget the +1 country code. Whatever you do, be civil about it if you do call.
