Pokerroom features - wanted or hated
I was thinking about stuff that I'd like to see implemented on sites, and stuff I'd like to ban or just dislike. Feel free or better yet forced to add your own ideas here - if by some cosmic fluke you happen to have one or two.
Wanted list:
1. Although I understand why this isn't to be found (everyone wants fast hands - faster rake) - I'd love to be able to choose not to see my hand until the action's on me.
2. Choosing your timezone - and having tournament times displayed in your timezone. (JetSet has this +++++)
3. Rabbit (as Poker.com) - but also if you choose to fold when isolated etc.
Xnay list:
1. Cards that flop at 1 million miles/hour (Pacific) - It's sick when you have to check hand history to see why you won/lost
2. Timebank - if you're not there you're folded - if you need 60s plus to make up your mind in an AP 50$ freeroll you need a lobotomy not a pokergame
3. Sitouts - if you miss the first level (or if I'm generous the first two) - too bad - buy a watch.
edit - yeah, and by the way Al and PokeRound- don't launch pokerrooms that look like their coded on an commodore 64 and have no functionality whatsoever - not even a lobby for the tournament you're playing or multi-table action.

Re: Pokerroom features - wanted or hated
Papa, I really agree with the timezone thing! I would be so nice not to have to figure out exactly what 21:00 GMT translates into! At least some of the sites have the count down for you, like 2 hours 38 minutes, then I can actually make it out, if not, I just get lucky on times!
You know, I think I would agree with most of what you said. I hate the stinkin' timebanks on alot of the sites! About the only ones who get disconnected are those other poor saps like me who are stuck with crappy dialup, and if I get disconnected, it takes longer than 60 seconds to log back on anyway...so I say fold em!
And another gripe to add to your list...I want to be able to find my table again if I do get disconnected! Some sites I play on are real good and you just click the take your seat button, but others, even if you find your name in the list of 4000000000000 names (ok I exaggerated there), it doesn't even tell ya what table you are playing on (Celeb Poker), so you still have to go table by table to find yourself, and that's a major hassle because it seems while you're looking tables are changing and so you have to start over and 5 minutes later you might actually find yourself again!

Re: Pokerroom features - wanted or hated
I like the idea of having the times displayed according to my timezone and then xnays on timebanks and sitouts.
Additionally, I think if someone tries to sit out (for longer than 20 or 30 min, to be fair to disconnected dial-up users) towards the end of tournaments it should be considered an automatic forfeit.
All sites should allow people to display personalize avatars because it makes it easier to remember who you've played before.
It would also be nice to find your table after a disconnect which is caused by a computer shutting down. I know AP will let you find them if you haven't restarted your computer(go to "Tournaments" then "Regeistered in Tournaments" and it will give you a list, click on the name and you are there), but if I'm disconnected it's because either my computer is having issues or I'm needing to switch computers.
Also, there are a lot of sites which deal the hands too slowly, I get bored and there is no reason for a computer to deal at the same speed (sometimes it seems slower than) as a human dealer.

Re: Pokerroom features - wanted or hated
I hate poker rooms that don't have statistics of your play or instant hand histories (cough . . . Prima . . . cough).
Some things I'd like to see more of
Rabbit option
Move seats option - I've only seen this on two sites. You don't actually change seats, it just kinda rotates the whole table to put you in that location. It's kinda handy so you don't lose track of yourself if you're playing multiple games, you can sit in the same spot on every table.
Timezone change - I can't even count the number of times I've missed a tournament cause I thought it was in Central time and it was Eastern or the other way around.
Tournament summary at your table - I like sites that display how many players are remaining right at your table. Jetset is also kind enough to tell you your chip position.
Some things I could do without
Anything to do with changing deck colors, adding stuff to the table, etc . ..
Sitouts, if you don't play one hand during the first level of the tournament, you're out. If you can't make it, don't register.
Idiots at the poker tables. Can the sites do something to regulate this? lol

Re: Pokerroom features - wanted or hated
I pretty much agree with everything you guys said, especially about the Timezone. I want to play poker, not spend an hour doing equations to figure out the time difference.
I too would love to see personal avatars, it is confusing to be at a table where everyone looks the same. I was at a table the other night where 5 of the 6 players had the same avatar as me!
Something I'd really like to see, a warning that you're being moved in a MTT.
I've played in a tourney where I moved from table to table so fast that I didn't get to play for about 5 hands. Ticked me off!

Pokerrooms feautures is definitely decent. Just wish you could choose your own avatar instead of having to play as a grandma or something that doesn't even resemble you. This is a comment concering pokerroom.com

I agree with most of the things you say. I dont like it when there are no player stats. I also like the sites that give you the probability of winning when you are all in, but many dont have this feature.
I would like sitouts to be removed after certain period of inactivity.

Online poker is not fine the way it is, and it should continue to get better & better to keep up with the times, unfortunatley USA standards don't believe in such standards but ah well right.......Sit outs that are gone, yes after the first round or two GREAT IDEA (although sometimes bad when your all alone at a table just to collect chips lol) and maybe some betting in the dark wouldn't be a bad idea either. I think that might get the donks/fish to realize look if you wanna be in this hand then you gotta stick with it and not just in it to suckout on the river with your 59 o/s to catch the straight. I doubt it'd happen a few of us guys were talkin about it in our home game. I don't really care about color changes and all that bs it's useless, the table skins are fine the way they are. Other than that maybe a few more sites with the bad beat bonus that's always a nice thing to do for the Mike the Mouth blowups out there (lord knows I've done it) lol. JJ vs 1010 to get quad 10s of the flop or river. Other than that....hmmmm not sure yet I'll post again when my temp is up more
