Full Tilt poker is no longer allowed for US players to play real money, but I believe you can play their free poker games, like that of Poker Stars.

The U.S. is on tilt when it comes to playing online poker for real money.

Perhaps some day soon, US players will be able to back to a normal life of playing online poker for real cash, but hold your breath for it to happen.

I noticed that full tilt poker site is down and has been for quite awhile now.

Last I heard was that there was another company interested in Full Tilt poker, the French investment firm Groupe Bernard Tapie, who is planning on purchasing Full Tilt poker for $80 million from the DOJ.

This from Poker News dot com on January 31st 2012...

Quote:
According to a report by Gaming Intelligence last week, the owners of Full Tilt Poker agreed on the final terms of their forfeiture agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice on Jan. 24. The agreement could allow French investment firm Groupe Bernard Tapie to fork over the agreed $80 million to purchase the company from the DOJ.
Read the full story at Poker News, where you will find out what is happening with Full Tilt poker, and how they plan to pay back US players and other poker players who are owed monies.

Thank you so much for the update. Can you imagine? $80M for a poker site. It sure must make some good money for anyone to pay that kind of money for it.

Wonder if they bought the name too or if it will be changed? Do you by chance know?

I have no idea what they will do with full tilt poker. And buying a well-known poker site for $80 mil is not that expensive, when you think of the revenue they've scraped up in the past.

When or if the new owners decide to keep the same name, I'm sure they will update the site to today's standards and get the poker chips flowing again.

I read that Poker News article and it mentions that the DOJ will end up paying back the US players once they get paid for the site; thus the $80 million price tag for the Full Tilt poker site.

You know how long these legal battles last, sometimes it takes years before an agreement can be made.
But it looks like the DOJ has a caught a bite on their price tag, so it shouldn't be too long before full tilt is up and running again, and maybe with a new name.

We'll know for sure what will happen with Full Tilt poker after it comes out in Poker News.

Well, its certainly good that some of the money paid for Full Tilt will go towards paying the players that didnt get their money before.

As to legal battles, who knows how long these things will take. Sometimes it seems things get settled over night and other times, like you said, it can take years.

Keep us updated as things transpire with Full Tilt Poker. I for one am very curious about the name and about whether or not the players actually get paid.
