Default Royal Screw Up

Beaston posted about his royal flush and it reminded me of one of mine (3 so far).

I was playing $2/4 limit at the now defunct Planet Poker. I flopped the str8flush draw and bet it. Got two callers. Turned the royal, so I checked it. And they both checked.

I bet the river and they both folded.

I typed in chat, "Good fold, I turned the royal."

Another player posted a link, so I clicked on it. It was the link to the Planet Poker Royal Flush promotion. If you show down a royal flush, you win a $100 bonus prize. That $4 bet on the river cost me $100.

OUCH

I know Bally's in Vegas has something like that..I think it starts with quads and goes up...Easy way to win $50-100

I kinda miss planet poker. They were the first, weren't they?

I really miss Planet Poker. Softest games on the 'net. I have heard that they were the first, but I came along years later.

I just check down a royal flush. Too dangerous a flop. (5 so far) I got one allin, with another player playing into me, the rest were cheap pots

I do the same thing as bobby. (only 4 so far, 2 on the flop) I slow check it or just call waiting for my opponent/opponent's to match their K's or A's and then raise them on the river, they usually go all-in.

Such a lovely feeling to catch an opponent or two with a RF.

(btw, it's happened to me before, getting caught with a flush under the RF)
