Default Slumping Hard

Last two nights have been brutal. Playing $3/6 FRLH last night at one of my tables I had AA once and KK thrice, and came up empty on all of them. The last KK hand I flopped a set, and got flushed. I was 2/9 at showdown on that table - a sure way to lose money at limit holdem.

The night before I was playing NL, and flopped a set of kings. I could not get all my money in fast enough on the flop, and was already behind to a set of aces.

Tough couple hundred hand run.

I heard y'all on the bribery stance towards the dealer. It does work sometimes at a live table, but I'm thinking it may be partially from luck. So you give the dealer a tip and ask him for some good cards. The next thing you know in the next hand or the hand after that, you actually get cards that match the board and make a pot.

The only problem with trying this online, is that it cannot happen. I guess you could make a querry to the dealer in the live chat, but all of us know you will get no response.

But it is funny to read some of the remarks from the other players after you make the request.

It must be in the water! Playing NL last night and had AA in the BB. EP limps with a couple others, I raise 5x and only EP calls - Flop comes all blanks and 2 hearts - He calls a $35 all in by me - All his money - with a flush draw!

Hits on the river

WTF - NO ONE will fold a flush draw online.

I keep telling myself that there is no such thing as good without bad so this is just the down turn. As long as we lose less during these turns and win more on the other side - then all is good.

Keep the cards coming!

well my luck has changed a bit...i got 3rd place in the knock out challenge, and got quite a few knock out bounties..I think I would have gotten higher if I didnt' allow someone to upset me so.....here is what happend.

I knocked out 3 or 4 people...so at $2.50 each I already had my money back for my buy in...plus about 6k in chips.

I was BB, and one of the players raised preflop...didnt' raise much (less than 100)...and i could afford it....thinking what the heck i got enough to call, now...I only had a 9-5 of hearts...but what the heck...I called

on the flop comes
J-9-5 So...I bet 1/2 pot...the other guy comes over top of me...so I know he has the J.

we play it down...to river etc...nothing much else comes out. he bets all in....I got him covered with no problem....and it is a knock out challenge and the name of game is to knock him out and get his bounty....so I call

of course I have him beat....but he has a A-J OS, and gets livid about me calling his preflop raise....told him I had a feeling, and would have folded after the flop if i didn't hit....well he ran his mouth the rest of time...I got mad...and let it get to me...

Placed 3rd but got more bounty money than just about anyone in the game...so I was happy with that...but I gotta learn to not let them bother me.

BTW...heres a good question for ya....so...If someone raises preflop...does that mean I should fold no matter what?? I have seen online where ppl will raise preflop with crap!! and I ignore preflop raises unless it's all in and i have nothing....I know 9-5 suited is nothing...but the flop gave it to me...I like seeing the flop if I already have money in.

Of course it doesn't mean you should fold..

If you sit back and wait for premium hands before you play a hand, not only are you going to be predictable, you're going to fall asleep waiting on them...

...or get blinded out if you're playing a tourney.

The short answer is no - you shouldn't always fold.

You made a judgement call vs. a raise you considered weak. Whether you played it well or got lucky depends on which side of the table you are sitting on . (Bet his opinion differs from yours ROFL)

I love the fact that online poker players think that a raise with a good hand should guarantee a win and that it is either "rigged" or the site "rewards" bad players or something else when it doesn't.

Shame on you for getting on tilt though!

It's a good thing that you got most of the bad beats dcputernut, but like you said, don't let what others say effect your game.

If someone razzes you over getting bumped off because of what hand you called with, just tell the person, "Get over it and move on with your life".

And then make no more responses.

That player planned to rag you until you made the wrong move. It was his way of getting back at you for his mistake.

What I tell players that rag me like that; "Get over it already!" And then let them chat all the crap they want about the bad move I supposedly made when I knock them out. After a few minutes the other players will get tired of his crap and start cursing him off anyways.
