Default Bounty SNGs

Been thinking about this. I can't decide if these bounty SNGs - which I love - are a value or not. Generic set-up: 10-seat SNG with a $2.20 buy-in. $1 goes into the prize pool and $1 is a bounty paid to whoever knocks you out of the tournament. $5 for first, $3 for second and $2 for third.

Last night I had the worst case winning scenario: I placed first, but the only person I knocked out was when it was HU. So, I win $5 plus $1 for the bounty, plus the $1 bounty on me is refunded. I get $7. However, in a regular 10-seater, I would win $10 for first. To match this in a bounty SNG, I would have to knock out 4 people on my way to first place, which seems unreasonable in the long run.

But, for overall ROI, there are plenty of times when I bust a player or two and then bubble out. So I recoup some cash via bounties in those situations where in a regular SNG I would not.

Anyone have any detailed stats on bounty-style SNG ROI, and whether or not they are a value?

Ive not played single table bounty tournaments but I have played the multis at FT.

Last game I played was a MTT with over 200 players. I finished 6th and only collected one bounty.

I play 90 player SNG's, often make the final table collecting one or two bounties at most. The best ive done is 6.

I enjoy playing the bounty tournies but it doesnt seem to suit my style of play, or maybe it does because I sit back and let everyone else knock each other out.

Ive not really kept a track of my bounty wins but my cash rate is slightly higher in KO tournies but my KO rate is higher in standard tournies.

It probably balances itself out for me.

I did a 30-seater at Cake last night, finishing third and winning 0 bounties. Ordinarily I would consider that a failure, as the payout for getting that deep is not very good, but last night was a bit different.

I was 5 of 10 when we hit the final table, and then my daughter called to say that the field hockey team's bus was getting back to the school after an away game. So, I had to give up the game and go fetch her. I fully expected to be blinded out by the time I returned.

When we got back home I was 7/7. I had AJs, but could not get the touchpad to work before I timed out. I caught a couple of hands and even had a chance to win it, but then the cards dried up and I busted out in third.
