hehe, we share a couple: The Cooler and Casino.

Worst put-together poker movie around - "Lucky you"

One of the best poker movies: Rounders

There's one movie that wasn't particularly about gambling, but sort of fits the profile: The Grifters (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099703/)

Best gambling TV series: Las Vegas (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364828/) - even though they did **** everybody off when they cancelled it all of a sudden and left us with a horrible cliffhanger. A cliffhanger worse than the ending of the Sopranos.

I like all of those movies and one not associated with casinos until towards the end of the movie; The Color of Money.

About a man who use to be the best billiards player, Fast Eddie (Paul Newman), and later became a moonshine runner to make his easy money. But he gave up his moonshine business for teaching a natural pool player, Vincent (Tom Cruise), and of course Vincent's hot girlfriend was there most of the time.

All kinds of gambling and swindling goes on in that movie, and I was really into billiards just before The Color of Money came out.

By taking a few tips from a billiards pro when I lived in Tampa, Florida, I could have easily taken to that path in my life.

What is it with poker players and billiards? Even Daniel Negreanu used to be a pool hustler, and I have to admit, I did the same years ago...

I guess it's just in our nature as gamblers.

but, back on track here:

I LOVED The Color of Money. This was actually a sequel of "The Hustler" from way back in 1961 that starred Paul Newman (again, as Fast Eddie) along with Jackie Gleason and George C. Scott. This movie was so great that it won 2 Oscars and 12 other various awards. It has an 8.2/10 rating on IMDB, and is ranked #182 out of all the movies that are listed on IMDB.

Oh yeah, Rounders! Great movie!!

I love the color of money and the hustler too, you can't beat Paul Newman, he was fantastic!

What about the Sting? Great movie about horse betting.

My favorite would be Rounders.

Those getting honorable mention though (Some with a casino theme only ):

Ocean's Eleven (12 and 13) - They were descent.

Honeymoon in Vegas - This one was with Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker. Cage and Parker are getting married and he looses her in a poker game.

Bugsy - The start of the Flamingo Hotel and Vegas itself.

The Color of Money - This was a good one.

Maverick - Poker and comedy - not bad

I'm not sure if I've seen this one, but it sounds good.

I like Cage as an actor to begin with, and to see him loose his new wife in a poker game?

Does he ever get her back?

I will have to see Honeymoon in Vegas one day.
