Thought I had ya beat in one thing, but it's about the same, other than your speeds are a bit faster.
I've got about a half-second of wait time for a web page to load, and sometimes it's instant.
This is much better than when I first got cable internet.

There's been times where I've downloaded files that were around 5mb or less, and as soon as I clicked on them, they were already finished....
I remember having dual channel ISDN back in 1996, which was the fastest residential option available at the time. We're talking 128k/s, which worked out to a blazing fast 16K/s downloads! The ISDN router was pretty damn expensive at the time, considering. I think we paid about $250 for it
The great thing about it was that I was working for an ISP at the time, so one of my fringe benefits was that I didn't have to pay a penny for the service. Bell Atlantic (yes they were still around at the time..lol) actually charged about $100+ per month for an unlimited ISDN plan, since you had to pay for both the line and service at the time. I guess this is because ISDN is purely digital, and not ran over POTS (plan old telephone service -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/POTS) lines. I lived close enough to where I worked, so we were able to have it setup for 4 digit dialing (basically, being in the same office and not having to dial the full 7 digit phone number), and get around this, altogether. We never had to pay a penny for extra ISDN line charges.
It sure beat the hell out of 14.4k modem we had right before that
Wow, a blast from the past. This is the ISP I worked for, which was based out of Newark, DE:

They were since bought out by
