Default Where is eveyone?

I can not believe how slow this place is? There are so many members, and so many visitors everyday, but no posters. We love to talk here, come on newbies, and old timers, lets get busy and start getting active!

We miss everyone, and would love to start some freeroll tourneys and other games to play, but we need some takers!

Hope to see some posters, and peeps keeping each other company.

Cheers

I am in Djibouti! Its a wonderful little African country snuggled in amongst Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea. A real garden spot.

Actually, not much grows here except scorpions and wild dogs. I am at Camp Lemonier (you can google that) and until a few days ago the stupid 'net nannies here were blocking ALL gambling sites. Fortunately, the server went down last weekend, and when they got it working again after 5 days, the 'net filters were off. I am sure that is more of an oversight than a new policy, so I will have my access blocked again at some point - but for now, I can read and post!

Oddly, the 'net filters do not block a few of the actual gaming servers, so while I cannot visit the AP wesite, I can play poker at Absolute. I am not entirely thrilled about that, but it was either that or not play any poker. I don't get much opportunity to play, but I have got my chips into a few pots since January, and I am happy to do it.

Hopefully I will have a chance to read and catch up with folks here before they turn the filters back on.

Happy Flopping!

Good to see you still kicking over there in wild dog and scorpion land Biscuit!

It would be nice to hear a little about the news over there, but I know you'd have to kill us after telling us.

How's the weather there these days?

The first day of June and it's already hit 90 degrees in SC.
That was yesturday, but it's suppose to get that hot again tomorrow, or the 2nd, which may be today to you.

We are all happy to see you post on here again Biscuit.
Let us know how your gaming goes when you get the chance.
We would like to know how you do while playing in an alien land.

The weather here is hot. Damn hot! The heat index gets up over 110 most days now, and over 120 from time to time. The highest so far this year is 124.

I wish I was doing anything so exciting I'd have to kill people I told about it. Mostly it is just an arduous grind. I work about 75 hours a week, and have only had 2 days of not going in to my desk in the past 4 months. That does not leave much time for recreation. We have a pathetic little club on base where you can get beer and wine. The selection is limited, and so is the quantity - no more than 3 in a day.

I have taken to hiking for exercise in the evenings. I can't tolerate running in this heat, but I can get a 5 mile hike in, no problem. Sometimes I wear a backpack and sometimes I don't. I have seen packs of 30-40 wild dogs outside the fence many times, but last Friday I saw that 3 had got inside the fence somehow. In the 50-60 pound range, I'd guess. I was out at the far edge of camp, and there was no one else around. They were looking at me like I was 220 pounds of "the new white meat", but apparently decided they needed a couple more friends to take me down. I reported them to camp security when I was done, and I have not seen them since.

There are 2 casinos downtown, but no poker rooms. There are free drinks and hookers, but it ain't Vegas! The first time an Ethiopian hooker introduced herself I was a little taken aback. They make up for their lack of english skill by grabbing the part they intend to service. HAYYYYOOOOOOOO!!!!! They are surprisingly good looking, too. Like the model Imam. Maybe in my younger days, but I am too old and married for such things now.

I am 7 hours ahead of US east coast time. Makes for interesting table selection whenever I get online.

Glad everyone is well.

I did Google it and it came right up. I noticed in the south-eastern part of the base is pretty baren, as compared to the rest of it.

It also looks like Djibouti is on the same time line as the island of Cyprus.
So you posted at around 7pm your time.

I've been to Cyprus for a conference/vacation. I did learn a lot about some of their culture, and by talking to the cab driver who gave me a lift to the Larnaca airport from Limassol, Cyprus.

He mentioned he has a house on the west side of the island, but the town was taken over by gang-types, so he mostly works and lives on the east side. Good story that was.

It is good that you can get around and keep up your exersize program.
I bet you don't stick around much when you see a few dogs by yourself. I know I wouldn't.
But with 30 dogs? Even when they're on the outside of a fence I'd get a little nervous without some kind of protection.

How's the internet there Biscuit?
When I was visiting Cyprus it was like a dial-up speed. A half hour for 1mb of info to upload. That was brutal as compared to what I have here.

Fill us in on your excitement with those wild dogs. God be with you Biscuit.

We hope to see you posting on here back in the states soon.

Hey catwoman, looks like our posters went AWOL again.

Time to round them up again.

I think I will need a little backup with this, so I will steal the avatar from above for help.

Right on.

I think Biscuit posts whenever he can get through without his present server blocking him.

He may be blocked again. Hopefully they will mess up again and he will be able to get through to us for a quick post.
