Default Knock out Challenge

I have talked about Bounty games at Intertops before...but had to give an update....

I have been playing the Knock out challenge at intertops for the whole month....not every game, or everyday...but it's the first month where I have started out playing at the beginning of the month and have been able to play off and on all month to keep my rank up....and...as of right now I am 7th on leader board (will get $50 on the 31st if i can keep it) !!!

I love the knock out challenge!! I have placed in top 5 in almost all of them that I have played this month (the card gods have been with me..lol) and I have placed 1st in about 4 of them.

It's nice because even if you dont' place in top 5 you can get your buy in back with knock outs.

Last night I played and took 3rd, but had the highest in bounty's.

I have learned to keep chat off on this game...the #1 placed player in this game runs his mouth alot to throw people off their game...and quite a few people have quit playing because of it.

but it makes it that much better when you can knock him out....maybe next month I can beat him (although he playes EVERY game EVERY day...so I don't think i can do that..lol)

I am a bit excited...as this is the first MTT I won...and still win....

Nice going dcputernut.

I can see how the mouthy online players could get under your skin.
And it is good to see that you have learned to turn the chat off.

Where the mouthy chatters are concerned; I try to turn the tide with them. Give them what they want, a response.
I'm not saying I give them the response they want, just a response that will tee them off.
It's a game they play, so play it back or turn off the chat.

I'm not that good at poker terminology. What is MTT?

Is there a place where we could add the different poker terminology, here on this site?

Perhaps one person who is good with the lingo, or maybe a link going to a page that has it all would work best.

ALRIGHT TOP 5!

Keep it up and let us know how it ends!

Nice way to end the month and the year on the poker side of things!

Hope this helps Dyno_Don

Like the express that these are just my findings, I take no credit for this:

: What does ITM mean?
: ITM is an abbreviation for "in the money". To place high enough in a poker tournament to get prize money.

: What does MTT mean?
: MTT is an abbreviation for "multi table tournament". A poker tournament that involves more than one table of players. Commonly used for scheduled poker tournaments.

: What does SNG mean?
: SNG or SnG is an abbreviation for "sit and go" tournament. Instead of having a scheduled start time, a sit and go poker tournament begins as soon as a limited number of tables are full.

: What does ABI mean?
: Abbreviation for "average buy-in". Sum of buy-in incl. rake divided by number of tourneys played. Note: For R/A (re-buy/add-on) tournaments, buy-in is calculated as an avg. of the total prize pool divided by the number of players in that tournament (It is not possible to track how many times a player actually re-buys in a tourney)

: What does AFS mean?
: Abbreviation for "average field size".

C-Bet/cBet/Continuation bet - To make a follow-up bet on a flop after you have raised pre-flop. e.g. Hero raises 4xbb with AK and the bb calls. Flop comes 2 6 9 rainbow, bb checks and Hero bets even though he didn’t improve his hand because he raised preflop.

Expected Value/EV - The long term effect of making certain decisions. Can be either negative (-ev) or positive (+ev). e.g. Constantly calling raises w/ 93o is –EV (as in, u keep doing it, u are going to lose money in the long run)

Fold Equity/FE - The value you get from the times your opponent(s) folds. Fold Equity = (% of the time your opponent folds) * (the amount of money you win when he folds i.e. the pot size)

Hand History/HH - The transcript of a specific hand or complete tournament, usually obtained from the specific online site.

Heads-Up/HU - One on one play, usually the final two at the end of a tournament

In the Money/ITM - Landing the paid places in a tournament.

LAGG/LAgg/LAG - Loose aggressive; a player at your table who plays more hands than average and plays them aggressively.

Leak - A hole or shortcoming in your game. Usually a fairly small mistake, but one in which you are ‘leaking’ chips – most notable is completing from the SB (largely because of the discount price) with moderate to poor holdings looking miracle flops.

LHE - Limit Hold‘em

Line Check - You post a hand you played and then ask people to comment on how you bet (or the line you took) on each street.

Open Limp - Being the first person in the pot preflop, but not raising.

Out of the Money/OTM - The opposite of ITM! Placing outside of the places that pay in a tournament.

pwn/pwned - Slang from own/owned. When someone outplays or otherwise outclasses someone else. "You got pwned."

Return on Investment/ROI - The net profit you made divided by the money you invested to make that profit (the sum of all your buy ins).

STBY - Sucks to be you. Often said when people post bad beats (Forum/Internet acronym).

TAGG/TAgg/TAG - Tight aggressive; someone who is tight with their starting hands but always plays them aggressively. Can also be known as solid.

I see several familiar names under the PokerStars list.
While playing in the freerolls, I've played some of their higher ranking players and didn't know it until now.

I guess some players just can't get enough, that they play in the freerolls too.

I noticed their top spot player spent around $130,000 and profitted $1million. That's hard core poker playing.
