Default MANCHESTER $50K

just wanted to stop in to let the community know that i qualified for the manchester $50k on betfred a few minutes ago!Â* i'm excited because i'm new to the game of poker (8 months) and i held my own up until the final table.Â* i finished 7th partly because we were all drained and decided to go all in pre-flop at the final table.Â* i'm trying to study the game and i felt good about how i did but i didn't do well near the end.Â* I was chip leader for about 30 minutes at one point but the more experienced players started stealing my blinds when the stakes got higher.
I need to focus on this part of my game.Â* any suggestions from the community on strategy once you get down to the final few tables and the blinds are $7,500+Â* any advice is welcome, especially from you guys who have played for years.

also......what was crazy about today is the fact that i simultaneously placed 69th and won some money in the $1000 freeroll while qualifying for the manchester!!! now this may not seem like much to some of you veterans but it was a high for me!!!Â* Â* LOL....I tanked near the end (prob. b/c of mental fatigue) but I did well and held firm in the top 20 until taking a bad beat.Â*

anyway, i hope more people from the community qualify and to those of you who already have: good luck and see you on sept. 8!!Â*

Marino,

Click This Link ---> http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/sport/poker/

or cut and paste it into your browser. The password is in bold print a the very bottom of the article about poker. Good luck, and I hope that you qualify for one of the seats before the 8th.

Well done Walt. I'm very similar to you. I qualified for the final a few weeks ago, and I have only been playing for 3 months, and I know what you mean about the high when you make it.

I couldn't go to bed for ages, as the adrenalin was still running. My final table was exactly the same. As soon as it got down to 10, everyone just chucked all in, as the job was done.

SuperObe,

cool!Â* i'll see you at the table on the 8th...i have a bit of a problem though...i'm moving to atlanta to start a new job this week.Â* the tourney is around 2 here and 8 in the uk!!! i'm trying to figure out a way to get home or get to a computer b/c by the time i get off work i'll be too far behind or out of the tourney.Â* That sucks but i'm in the process of recruiting my brother to "babysit" my chips from his computer in florida and keep me out of the hole until i can get home.Â* Good luck!
