With the nuts, I generally limp in if I am playing early & min raise if I am late.

The last time I got a decent payout with 4 of a kind was at 5 card draw. I was dealt 4 K's, the other player had 4 2's. We both drew 1 and went for it. I knew I would win the hand but Im sure he felt the same.

Sometimes we can get away with a steal even when we know our opponents have the nuts, and that is a great feeling or fishing.

In your case with the K's, I don't think there was any thought that you would loose, unless an Ace appeared. Good call.
