Default 20/80 rule

Does everyone agree that one should only call 20% of the flops

I heard 20% of the hands take 80% of the pots

Anywhere between 20-35% is a standard number for flops seen.

35% is way to many. I like to be around closer to 20%. If you then win 70% of those you should be able to build a nice stack. % should go down as blinds get larger.

I like to see 100% of the flops 20% of the time and 20% of the flops 100% of the time. :P

The times I go deep I usually have a seen flop percentage of just below 20% (17-18) - I guess that nails me down to an Action-Dan kinda player. At the FT though the number skyrockets - especially if you make it to shorthanded,

I'd have to disagree here. This isnt the WSOP and the blinds go up a little quicker than once every two hours. You're not always gonna be able to sit back and wait for top 10 hands. I'm not saying become an elephant, but with the structure of online poker you have to be willing to open up your starting hand requirements a little, especially when in position.

In most online tournaments today (especially low buyin tournaments and freerolls) a high percentage of the flops go unraised. Your amount of hands played should thus increase, when u can get good pot odds on hands such as suited connectors.

The exact percentage I don't know, but certainly high than commonly recommended for play in actual tournaments, where blinds don't raise as fast.

well....i have found it profitable to see as many cheap flops as you can....after the flop makes play much easier....plus i have changed around the top 20 starting hands to suit myself abit.....biggest problem i see is people over playin A9 - A6..unless suited there is erally no benifit of playin them..the occasional catch.....A2-A5...very crappy hands as far as im concerned but atleats the str8 possibility is there...online poker has opened the door to idiots.....after 10 or 15 hands in any tourney you will discover who they are..adjust your play accordingly...my most recent final table stats was 27 flops seen...19 show downs won...108 hands....you do the math
