Question Did I play AK right?

Later stages of a $3 Pokerstars satellite. 1/3rd the players are left. I've never had an exceptionally good time with AK so I called the raise by the raiser opposed to reraising.

Comparing his stack to mine, and his aggressive play. I believe he would have called me if I pushed anyways. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.comFlopTurnRiver.com (Format: Plain Text)

BB (Villain 2) (t37134)
UTG (Villain 1) (t19621)
MP1 (Hero) (t6956)
MP2 (t26294)
CO (t14181)
Button (t16375)
SB (t5848)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with As, Kh.
UTG (Villain 1) raises to t1600, Stranger85 calls t1600, 4 folds, BB (Villain 2) calls t800.

Flop: (t4300) Kc, Js, Ac (3 players)
Villain 2 bets t3200, Villain 1 calls t3200, Hero raises to t5306, Villain 2 calls t2106, Villain 1 calls t2106.

Turn: (t20218) 3h (3 players)
Villain 2 checks, Villain 1 checks.

River: (t20218) Th (3 players)
Villain 2 checks, Villain 1 bets t12665 (All-In), Villain 2 folds.

Final Pot: t32883

Did I play this right or was there something I missed? Villain 1 had KQo and won with the straight... wrecking my two pair.

You got your chips in well ahead of the winner, who just happened to hit his limited outs. As to whether he would have folded if you'd pushed pre-flop, that's just result-based thinking. You want to be all in after this flop.

yea the best thign to do is push all of it in preflop, it just sucks that you got sucked out and the other player caught the straight with few outs, nothing you can do about that, its poker

If you would have reraised you might have been able to get him to fold but like you said you didnt think that he would have folded even if you would have went all in. In the end I think I would have played it the same way you did too.

I would have reraised, but that is not knowing your opposition. If you knew if you reraised he would have called I would have just called like you did. Tough to get away from top 2 pair, but with that board and the other player it was likely he had the straight. Tough break.

with your chip count i would have pushed all in pre flop but i think the out come would have been the same. good cards at the wrong time = looking for the next game.

When I am in this situation and I know that I am playing against an aggressive player, I would ask myself if I were willing to go allin on the hand to start with, if so then I would have gone allin when he raised, if not then I would fold them regardless of how good the hand is.
