Default Does knowing percentage of possible win help?

I started watching the professionals on TV and the announcers always show the percentage on the hand that a player is holding. Is it to my advantage to buy a book and learn the percentages on certain cards? Will it make me a better player? and win more money?

You only know exact percentages if you know what the other person is holding. It is good to know your outs though and how much you should be willing to risk odds-wise. I recommend reading through a book or two it will improve your game - there is also plenty of free information on the net (even a bit in some of the older posts on here )

u can easily learn the percentage of the card u want (so it improves your hand) comin out. after the flop, simply count your outs and multiply it by 4, that will be the percentage of those cards comin(well close enough anyway), after the turn multiply your outs by two.. i do that and i can say that's helped me on my calls or folds...

knowing your pot odds can make the difference in folding or making that call.

an example would be your pot odds are actually decent against AK unsuited with 87suited

Lets put it this way it will help you win more live (in person) tournies. Don't expect anything to change though when you play online poker. AP has to be the worst sites in terms of the odds of winning with the best hand. In Live Poker though I think knowing the odds is critical to playing.
