Default Going heads up against Loose agressive players

Hi yall

I have a lil problem in my game at the moment and its against a particular kid I know who plays awfully in games with more than 3 people in but I can never seem to beat him heads up due to his aggressiveness and loose calling.

If I bluff he will always call it
I he bets he could have anything

Oh and just to add confusion he slow plays top pair alot
and if I bet he will raise it almost every hand

When I do get a good hand I nearly always take a large stack of his chips by letting him bluff himself out and then eventually raise on the river which he calls as always but these wins do not make up for the continued losses I have in most hands were I bluffs get called and he bluffs me out by raising my bets.

Its more or less immpossible to win a heads up game without bluffing as most the time you will not get good cards so how do I play against someone who calls every bluff I make (my standard amount is about the double the size of the pot or 5times the big blind preflop).

Normally I'd play tight against a player like this and get lots of his money in when I do get a good hand but I cant do this heads up and by the end of the night I go on a tilt

any advise?

thanx :P

Yup you want to play tight agressive.......

Tight means playing only good cards pre flop... (heads up good hands are Any Ace/king/pair Q7+ J9+)

And when you get a piece of that flop get aggressive..... over bet/reraise and dont let him raise you out of the pot...you need to stand your ground.... and not get bullied off the pots....

and if you flop a monster..... trips or better...play it slow and let him donk all his chips to you......

you cant let aggressive players push you off too many pots they will run you over..... if that means standing up to them with a pair of aces with a weak kicker then so be it...if you cant get more aggressive than your opponent with marginal holdings in this sernario... you should really avoid playing him

I find staying tight very hard during heads up tho esepcially how my blinds are constantly attacked

I've never been sure on whats tight and whats loose in heads up

I currently play any pockets/suited connectors and any card over a jack.

I also raise whenever am on the button and have a chiplead as long as am not going to fold preflop, but I've found this tactics poor against this player as up to today he has folded about 5hands to my preflop raises (although they are minimum raises which probably aint a good idea)
Oh and btw in my games we play heads up without a small blind :P

Thanx for the help

What exactly would you call tight in heads up?

Drop the suited connectors they aint worth shit heads up.....

And dont raise the button everytime and certainly not for the minimum do at least 2.5X BB....raising a LAG without a decent holding is just asking for trouble as you probably know he will most likely come back at you etc putting you on the back foot again......

and stop trying to protect your blinds too much.... only protect them when you have some cards that warrent protecting...... then stand up to the aggressive player and bite back...

Last game I played against him I got dealt KK first hand and went all in
He called me with J 10 and the board gave him a full house :P

Minus that luck I'll try raising larger amounts and playing a lil tighter

Reading your reply you need to be careful that you’re not being predictable! you need to mix it up to keep him guessing, and as Tom, has already posted suited connecters not too good in heads up, unless of course you get a chance of a cheap flop or free check on bb.
You should be able to use your his history against him to your advantage, as he’s probably got you marked as easy to bully, so should be putty in your hands lolÂ* Also as an alternative try swiming against the tide it really messes them up
let us know how long it took to knock him out

P.S what site you play him on
