Unhappy HELP! I've gone crap!

okie dokie, I've been playing no limit holdem ring games online since the start of this year.

January: Titan 6 man tables = $30 , my first month moving up to no limit and this site if fairly tight, so not bad I was on micro limits

February and March: Pacific poker 10 man 5c/10c tables= about $30 a month, very low limits but competition is so soft

April, may: pacific 10 man 12c/25c tables = approx $180 a month, raised my limits and if anything was easiar to win as looseness was not too extreme

June,+ half of July: pacific 10 man 25c/50c tables= $700, I decide to move limits yet again as Im consistently winning on 12c/25c, It oges very well, too well I failed to cut down on my poker playing and butched my A levels, but on the other hand this was anouth money for a kid my age to live off, I have never enjoyed poker so much in my life before now.

August: Pacific Poker 10 man 25c/50c tables = loss of $60, I return from holiday and the bubble pops, sure I havent played as much during the summer but still surely luck cant account for bad runs like this or maybe it can?

Whats happened to me

and what would you recomend I do for the future in terms of poker?

Stop playing and buy some Charmin or Depends to take care of the crap.

Actually, you really just need to be patient and wait for the cards to come to you. And try and focus to get back into how you were playing at beginning of year.

You can easily have a losing month no matter how good you are. I have downswings that last 2 or 3 months some times. Losing $60 in a month is nothing to be concerned about when playing NL. At the levels you're playing at, $60 is nothing. One buy-in pretty much. If you don't have losing sessions/days/weeks/months when playing NL, you are playing wrong. Bad luck runs are going to happen. Cards are going to run cold for a while. Stupid idiots are going to be able to suck out time after time. More times than seem statistically possible. You're going to have huge downswings and even bigger upswings. Having the stomach to be able to handle these large swings is one of the requirements of being a great NL player.

thanx but are you totally sure luck could swing into a loss for as long as a month
Am very use to how you get ups and downs in poker, I have had days were I have lost around $100 a still made a profit at the end of the month

This month has hit my moral has I was in $80 profit then sunk into a $60 loss gradually.
I am not prone to tilting normally but I suspect I may have set myself on a long term tilt if theres such thing lol

No, Deco, there is no such thing as a long term tilt. The guys are right, the gambling cycle wheel does come around. How you handle the cycle is up to you. My pet word has already been advised to you. Patience, yes Deco!! Hard to be patient at times, but, it's either that or maybe take a break from the game to evaluate your play. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

Hey Deco. Just noticed where you're from. So, your a Liverpudlian (did I spell that right?). Now I know the cure for your woes, and it's easy. Go to the pub for tea and have a Guinness Stout or two (one for me and for you). I know that after supper you guys like to go to the club. Again, have a brew or two. Relax and enjoy yourself while you regenerate your poker skills. (lol)

(lol) Good lad, Deco, as you guys say across the pond. You're making the right choice!!

Yes, my friend, one-a-day Guiness will regenerate your poker skills. More than two-a-day, me thinks, will degenerate your mind!!! Good luck.
