very interesting concept. I would definetly buy shares into Phil Ivey's play or Doyle Brunson. The pros could sell shares just like a company does on the stock exchange.
Really cool idea. I wonder if anyone has contacted any of the pros about this. Let me know!

The latest idea is the poker syndicate.
You sign up to the syndicate and then play online satellites to major live events.
The syndicate members who enter the satellite then recieve a share of any winnings that the satellite winner(s) take(s) from the main event.
The way it worksis that the buy ins from the satellite pay for the buy in and travel/accommodation etc for the main event.

Only people who play in the satellite are entitled to a share of any eventual winnings.

I'm a member of a syndicate and got my first winnings a few weeks back. (Not that much, but a profit nonetheless)

That is a good idea, espically if you have connections with a good player. But as a player, I would never do it, because if I was lucky a tournament, I would want to keep all the money to myself.

I'm not sure if poker shares is something new as the old fashioned way was to stake players with potential and little bank roll (not because they're not good but usually because they're alcoholics or gambling adicts so easy come easy go).

Interesting idea but not sure if it's practical to roll out to the masses.

Cheers,

I think it's common for players to be bankrolled into big tounaments by others. Annie Duke at one time was bankrolled by a friend in tounaments. I think but am not sure it was Eric Seidel. The pros also trade percentages of themselves with friends. As far as buying shares of a guy on E-bay, I don't think so.
