PokerStars $1,000,000 turbo takedown
Get in while you can.... PokerStars has many satellites running from now until the takedown starts on Jan. 25th at 14:30ET.
The thing is - you cannot buy your way into the tournament with cash! The only way to get in is to use your FPP to gain entry directly into this 5,000 FPP tourney, or via one of their many satellites. I just won my entry via a 8FPP R&A...
First place for this tournament will pay a whopping $100,000; and if you're lucky enough to make the final table, you're guaranteed $10,000. 4,000 places pay, with the lowest rank earning $90. A maximum of 12,000 players can enter, which means that at least 1 in 3 will get paid.
Good luck, and I hope to see you there!

Re: PokerStars $1,000,000 turbo takedown
That is right on beaston!!!
How many FPP's did you get for that one?
And, 801 people to make 1st place, wow.
I guess this means people with low poker scores on the poker test will make it to first place.
Would like to say, "See you at the tables", but I'm not registered.
I can say this though, have fun and kick some butt, but don't get to over-confident. Play the same way you did to get there, and you will do well.

Well, you don't get any extra FPP if you win a seat into the tourney at the end of the month....
There's a seat rewarded for every 5,000 FPP in the pool...and the extra FPP are spread out in 1,000FPP increments. Since there were 29,904FPP in this pool, 6th-9th place received 1,000FPP and 10th place got the remaining 904.
I think there were a few players going for the 1,000FPP prize instead of the seat...a couple of medium stacks were moving all in pre-flop too often once we reached the cutoff...lol
Turbos can be fun...5 minute blinds really make you play fast and aggressive, or else you're going to get blinded out. At least in the main tournament, blinds are 10 minutes..

Re: PokerStars $1,000,000 turbo takedown
Ah well, I went card dead and everyone else seemed to pick up a hand most of the time when I tried to make a move.
I had 2 BB left with the BB coming to me in the next hand when we got into hand for hand play...so I just squeaked in for $90
OH well, there's always next month! ...and I can't complain...it only cost me 24FPP to get my entry.

Re: PokerStars $1,000,000 turbo takedown
So beaston, you did get something out of it. That's a good thing.
The same thing had happened to me a while back. I made first place in a freeroll to a 25k game.
After playing a bit in the 25k game, it seemed to me that most of the other players were getting good cards and I wasn't.
I didn't even make the money in that game. This was also when I was fairly new at online poker, it got the best of me and I was out in the first hour.

I'm not sure why it says $20 entry...you can only get in by using 2,000fpp or satellite into it..

Re: PokerStars $1,000,000 turbo takedown
Good going beaston!!!
Be sure to play the same way during the upcoming tourney now.
I think it may be residue from another tourney they had forgotten to take out of this one.
You know how those editors can be....
