Default SNG Question

There are 6 players left in a 10-seat SNG. I am 5th in chips with 1375. Blinds are 300/150/25. I am the SB, so after postng I have 1200 left behind. I get dealt QTo.

It folds to BTN, who is the short stack with 1190. He bets 900. So, there's 1500 in the pot, he has 290 left behind, which he must auto-push, so really, there's 1790 in the pot. He is an aggro short-stack, and his range is wide, but its probably not any two.

BB is a bit of an unknown. He was loose as hell early in the SNG, but seems to have tightened up a bit the past few rounds. He has about 4K in chips. I put his calling range at roughly any pair 55 or higher, or ATo or higher.

All-in or fold?

9 times out of 10, you're more than likely going to be behind. That, plus the fact that you'll have the button next hand would make me want to fold and pick a better spot to get my chips in.

Fold.

Why - Basically the same as beaston. You have the button next and could more than likely pull the same move to get your chips back and second - your not sure what the BB will do behind you.

To me that is the main reason. If BB calls then you have to know you are behind.

Wait and get your blinds back off the button or the C/O.

Generally if I had a QTo I would call if I had more chips.

But calling and leaving yourself with only 300 chips, is not a good thing.

For a player to bet that many chips would get me to thinking he has some kind of pair in his hand.

As the announcer for most of the WPT tv shows says, "Don't go all-in with a Q in your hand, pre-flop". And he is so right about this saying, because about 70% of the time your Q will bomb out by the river.

My answer would be to Fold.
