Default STT + MMT

Ok Here's the problem

Single table tourneys I tend to be able to hold my own, except for bad beats, on average I’m in the money. Sometimes I have a spate of 4ths frustrating!!! But that’s mainly down to a bad run of luck.

Multi table tourney. This is a different story, I seem to do well to half way point, average to above average stacks but then seem to get a run of what I class as bad beats (lower hands calling that I would fold) killing me off

Do you actually track your in the money percentage for tournaments? For STTs, assuming 9 or 10 players with three places paid, anything above 40% is good. For MTTs, it can be more complicated depending on the proportion of the field that cashes, which can differ quite a bit from one tourney to another. If you're talking buyin MTTs, ROI may be a better measuing stick, but since MTT results are subject to high variance, it takes a large number of tournaments before the results are statistically significant.

I feel your pain, STT don't seem to be too difficult but MTT's are different, from what i have noticed you really can't win at a MTT just by shear skill and good playing you have to get lucky. Keeping the big stack or average stack up until 1 1/2 to 2 hr's in not really a problem you are playing against weaker players/unlucky players then you get to the part where people are either just hitting lucky cards or are really good and you just have to get lucky, the blinds get big and if your too tight you will get beat and if you play your good hands you will probably get beat at least once by a worse hand. You have to hope that hand doesn't eliminate you and you have to hope that you have enough chips to bad beat someone else. You can t win a MTT without out drawing someone you shouldn't have. In my opinon of course. Your low pairs have to hold up against high pairs and middle connectors have to beat top pairs as well.
