stop putting all your money on the table. Learn to manage your bankroll.

if your having fun and your not playing with your rent money dont worry about it. i have found the quikest way to lose my money is at cash games. seems like its always the same story. start with 20 dollars at a 50 cent blind. get cleaned out then throw 40 dollars down on a 1 dollar blind table to try to win back my 20. then im out 60 bucks. i have been sticking to multi table tournies. my money last a lot longer that way. just my opinion.

Deposit at least 30 SNG buyins and the stick to that level for a set number of games to get a feel for your *ROI. Having a plan makes your bankroll a lot safer.

Instead of cash take the occasional shot at higher buyin MTTs to try and get that turbo boost to the roll.

I speak from experience. I am good at SNG:s decent at MTT:s and horrible at cash. I used to regulary blow all my SNG winnings at cash tables (usually intoxicated).

Don't do that.

This may seem pretty obvious, but avoid playing big pots unless you have an appropriately powerful hand. Assuming you're not playing higher than NL 100 or 200, your opponents' poor plays will be a major source of your profit (for me, it's *the* major source). What you have to do is avoid giving too much back. Unlike tournaments where you quite often have to push for chips with good but not great hands, the onus to do so is far lower in cash games. In a tournament, your chip stack may get eaten away before you get another similar chance. In a ring game, with the small blinds that never increase, this doesn't happen.

Sounds to me like you are playing to high a limits. Try playing smaller limit games to keep from loosing it all at once. 200 does not give you much staying power.

well actually i am starting to get into the cash games. in these you need to play a bit different. only start with 20 bucks at a $1, $2 dollar blinds i have seem to build those amouts to 120 plus in about 15 minutes. It is all about playing only decent hands and folding even if it means loseing 2 bucks it is better than trying to chase. set a goal for the cash games once u hit it take the money and run. I have been playing in the dream poker cash tables to get into the 50k prize limit 8 out of ten points. it can be a bit harder because at this table you need to spend 26 dollars min to get one point. Also play only in the higher amount of people games. i play only in 10 person games it seems that you have another 4 hands to get something decent. Find a table where their is big big money. to a 20 roll at a table thats about 400 or so. these people think they can push you around becuase you dont have that much money. arragents and bullheaded vision will work to your advantage yesterday i had top 2 pair on the flop. with a bet of only 8 bucks this genius tryed to push me around thinking i was chaseing me he push his bankroll all in. this is a common way for most to fold. but sticking to it i went from 20 to 129 in six hands. people like to double you up. take it and run. usually you can find these players easy for picking around 10 or 11 pm central time. gl and with pratice you can get it

Personally I stay away from the cash tables. You can loose it all there...as you well know. It sounds like your a "tourney guy". Stick to what you are comfortable with. There are lots of sit and goes and smaller dollar tournaments out there.

I agree with DSV manage your money better - you shouldn't be buying into a cash game with your full roll - it's asking for trouble (I do it all the time lol).

I'd say work on your cash game though because it's much easier to win money consistently at the cash tables than tournaments (not counting S&G's).

In cash tables is more difficult to win money, some guys are very aggresive and is not like at the others tournaments.
