yeh i find it pretty easy you just get 7 cards 4 are shown to the other players and there are 3 that are just for you.and just bet on how good your hand is really.
thats it!!

The basics are like pokerlan said - the thing is though because you can see so many cards (1 for every player minimum / then more for who stays in the hand) you can work out your odds of hitting your hand or have a slight idea of what they might have much easier. Say for example you have 4 spades but you can see 4 which other people have got thats 7 gone (at least) and you can work out your odds accordingly. You need to pay attention a lot more and be good at your odds for this game.

I could never claim to be a 7stud expert but I just want to take the opportunity to brag about the fact that I just won a 400 pleyer 7stud freeroll.

YAY!! Clever me

Please dont ask me how I did it, coz I have no clue, I had a book infront of me with some basic tips and just followed what it said

Stud has quickly become my best game. One thing that most players aren't taking advantga eof is you can see your opponants cards (well some of them) and you have to use this to your advantage. There are players now who don't even look around the table to see their opponants cards. A great book to Read on Stud is Super System(where i learned to play) section on 7 stud by Chip Reese.

I agree. Chip Reese's section is awesome. I also recommend & card std fro advanced players by Sklansky et al, as well as Super Sytem 2 where Todd Brunson has a very good section on 7 stud 8b

Honestly, with a little practice 7 stud is one of the easiest games to play. HI/LO adds a good twist to it. A lot of hold'em players could learn a lot about reading players and hands by playing 7 stud. Most of the time these games are played as limit so it changes the hows and whys of what to play. You can get a simple lesson about the game from rounders. It really gives a nice piece of advice.
