I play a ridicoulus amount of Stud high with the fishiest of fish at UB at the moment. Yesterday there finally was a hand were people refused to fold (I am proud to say I was the only one

)....there are 8 seats and the last card was indeed dealt as a community card in the center.
Of course I had to check hand history to see what it was that people just couldn't let go of in face of a pretty obvious flush and a more than probable boat/quads...
One guy had Aces up...another a pretty low straight - plus there were people drawing to flushes and boats.
This kinda explains why it pays off bigtime to play patiently and only play hands that hold some promise....these people pay you off...and they try to bluff in a limit game where on seventh street you get on average about 12:1 on your money heads up to call one final bet...At which point (if their upcards lack any promise) it is a cardinal sin to fold anything better than Ace high....

And I am not even kidding here - if the final bet is a bluff at least once in 12 times (which it definately will be because of the drawing nature of the game) it is a play with +EV.
Another little tip while I am at it...don't bet seventh with crap - like sevens up...check call instead...saves you a lot of money...once in awhile you will miss a bet but I prefer safe at this point.
