Default little help with hi-lo

The rules of Omaha hi-lo (or Omaha 8-or-better) are similar to those of standard Omaha. The only one peculiarity of the game is that the pot can be split between the 2 winning hands: the best high hand and the best low hand. These hands can be held by one and the same person.

To qualify for low, a player must be able to play an 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-A all can be used for low, any combo of 2 cards from your hole cards and any 3 from the flop, turn, river, cards only

so ie

A-3-4-5-7 will be a low hand 2-3-5-7-8 would be a low hand so you see any combo from A to 8 can play as a lo hand but 2-3-4-5-6 / 3-4-5-6-7 / 4-5-6-7-8 will play as a low hands aswell as a hi hand if no other player as hit a higher st8 or better ie flush, fullhouse, 4 of a kind, but 2-3-4-5-6 will still split the pot as best low hand if there is no one holding the A plus any other low card from 2 to 6 to make a better low hand

i don't know much about this game either it is like a puzzle to me and i get so frautrated with it.so i just don't even play it.

i dont like normal as much as i do hi lo cos u got that extra bit or chance of geting ur chips back rather then losing to a boat with ur flush u cud also catch lo but its a bummer wen u got nutz and heds up all way vs lo lol suks tc all and gl

In Omaha Hi-Lo, I can understand the High hand but still get confused on the Low Hand sometimes. For instance, which hand is better:
1) A-2-3-4-5
2) A-A-2-2-3
Is (1) better than (2) because it is a st8 over 2 pair or does the 2 pair take it because it is less than a st8? Or does (1) take it because it hold the five lowest cards in the deck and since pairs don't count in Omaha Lo does (2) really even have a hand since it would really only have A-2-3 and not five low cards. Thanks for any help on my confusion.

1) is the best hand here as it counts as the best low / and the best hi hand

with the 2 pairs in (2) the sr8 beats it

rules for high and low are simple

high normal poker but you got to play 2 from your hand and only 2

doesn't have to be same cards for low or high

low 8 and under best 5 low cards suited does not matter can't have a pair and think you low.

also same rule aplys got to play 2 cards from your hand and only 2 from your hand. does not need to be the same cards as your high.

worst mistake in this game is to bet the low. Why because if you tie low and happens a lot high hand gets 50% of pot and you end up splitting the othe 50% you still won but you lost chips.

The low hand must consist of 5 cards 8 or lower. No paired cards. When you have 5 cards 8 and lower, start with your highest (low) card and go backwards to find who wins the low. i.e. 8753A wins over 8762A,
and 76543 wins over 8432A

Omaha hi-lo personally gives me a headache though ;p

yeah hi lo is so bloody confusing,
2 cards for each seperate hand and
theres a requirement for lo hands, I never play it

I love this Game. the biggest error I see made is people raising heavy pre flop. Not a very bright thing to do, this is not holdem. Another big mistake I see is people raising on a low draw with a board like A46. With the Ace more then likely feeding the Hi it also has the possibility of making more then one low hand . The Hi side will get the split and the low winners will spilt the low.
