Nah I wouldn't have made the 2nd bet, once you were called it was time to back out, as he was a tight player checking an ace was alot more likely than being on a flush draw.

I try not to double bluff unless I have very good outs and a scare card hits the turn.

well he wasnt actually THAT tight, just one of the tighter players at the table. A flush draw was well within his range of hands there. He had shown weakness twice by just calling from the blinds PF and check/calling on the Flop. If he has anything but an Ace on the turn, he's folding for sure. Being able to fire that second and third bullet on a bluff separates good from great. If you give up on a bluff every time you get called on the flop, you're not gonna get very far. Besides, I don't think there's any more satisfying feeling as a poker player than being right in firing that 3rd bullet on the river.

What the hell was I thinking here?

$2/$5 NLHE

Hero ~ $800
Villain ~ $400

I get dealt A-5s in the CO And it folds to me

Hero raises to $15
Villain in BB re-raises to $40 (I should mention here that this guy is fairly loose/aggressive. He had been on a losing streak for most of the night, he was already in for $800 but was clawing his way back pretty steadily)
Hero calls (Mistake #1 should have been an easy fold)

Flop :
A-10-7

Villain bets $50
Hero raises to $125 (mistake #2 should have been an easy fold AGAIN)
Villain calls

Turn :
3

Villain checks
Hero bets $150 (mistake #3 Should have checked and took a free card)
Villain moves in for $190ish
Hero calls (about the only correct play I made lol)

Villain turns over AA and I'm drawing dead.

lol we all have those moments mine are caused my heightened emotions/tilt

Tilt being were my emotional state is caused by badbeats/heavy losses
Heightened emotions were I gamble rather than play due to teenage life making me a hormonal wreck

what causes yours? I never thought the mighty Dsvw would tilt
and I'd say your raise on the flop was correct to see were your kicker stood.

Eh, I wouldn't call this tilt, I think I just put too much stake in my opponents loose/aggressive image and used some bad judgement. And I would agree with my raise on the flop if I hadn't been re-raise pre-flop. I should have easily been able to fold this as a PF re-raise with AK-AQ-AJ is definately with-in this guys range.

you can't be sure ever if a hand will work out. some times the card gods say "YOU DIE" and you get a terrible loss with fantastic cards, and some chump with a 72 off suit makes a flush and beats your str...
