Default Easy Fold?

Ok, I'm at the casino playing $2/$5 NL when this hand comes around.

I get dealt 8-2os in the BB. There are 4 limpers and I check. The flop comes down 8-8-3. I check it, this very loose and overly aggressive player bets $20 and gets one caller. It comes back to me and I raise to $80. The bettor folds and the caller then re-raises me to $200 and I quickly fold. Any thoughts?

In most cases this was a good fold.

Some information on the reraiser would be handy though.
Does he try and limp raise with high pocket pairs, does he reraise overpairs, is he loose or tight, what position was he in preflop.

Still I reckon the most important thing was that he cold called the original better, surely if he reraises with an overpair he would have raised the original better before now.
So if he's a tight player am guessing he has 33 if he's a loose player either A8 or K8.

Okay let me hit all the bases. First you thought you were out kicked. Second you thought he flopped a full house. Third you just didn’t like the odds. Or all of the above would be warning signals that couldn’t be overlooked and you being trained to let go as you must, so you did.

not knowing this player I would have folded .
There isn't very many players that could pull the trigger without an eight!

I think you were ahead but it was the right fold.

The only reason I even considered folding here is because he calls a bet and then re-raises my raise. I just didnt like the looks of that. Also I had no reads on this guy really. It was only the second time I've played with him.

Well I just played a hand like the one in your post, only difference is I haven’t trained myself to let go. First hand in a ten player sit n go at Fred. I was dealt Ad 5h and the flop is 5d 5s 9d. I’m in a middle position with three players still in the hand and your post is running through my hand over and over at a hundred KM an hour. The bb is first to act and raises 40 I re raise 160 the other player folds and the bb goes all in. I used most of my time trying to talk myself out of calling, but the guy with the pitch had a more convincing argument. He said I had the better kicker and three to the flush and so what if the odds weren’t right and if I win I can fold happily in other hands. Well it turned out I did have the better kicker he had Js and 5c. The turn was a Jd and the river Kd giving me a flush but not good enough to beat his house. Why don’t I learn from your wise words master.

I think you made the right call here at a sit & go , A9 or K9 could push all in as well as any PP , and you was ahead when the chips went in .

My problem my kicker is never any good cause they always seem to get there second pair on board by the river card.
