Default folding rockets

i saw a guy fold rockets the other day i had to take my hat off to him i mean i was very impressed there was no straight or flush but a lady went all in he thought about it for a long while but folded turns out she had pocket queens and the queen was the big card on flop that would have been very difficult to do i've only done it with 4 cards to straight or flush or 2 pair on board

Yeah take your hat and hit both of them for vary poor pre flop play. The guy with the aces should have pushed super large if not all pre and we all know that. Now the queens must have tip her hand pre with a minimum or small raise hoping to build a lager pot slowly and aces thought here take some rope. By my count aces has been slapped twice with the hat and queens once. Let’s even this thing up. Queens took that rope and skipped around the table right after she pushed all in quicker than a Texan past a salad bar. Then aces sat back cry inside then folded what started as a dream of a big win, definitely a slap. Aces win the hat slap rodeo and by folding gets to play another hand. Next time he won’t show and look like an ass for his bad play. Now tip your hat to aces if you still think he deserves it.

I dont know how it can be considered good play. Not enough info.

Was it a one on one situation?

How much was already in the pot?

What is a ticket tourney where the guy didnt need to call?

Personally Ill fold aces preflop if Im skating to a ticket for a tourney, have done so several times.

They guy might have wimped out and had a lucky escape.

Im putting the other player on QA and calling. Depends on the circumstances but if the guy played his aces well, there would be little chance of 2 pair with rags. A danger of 3 of a kind but I would still fancy my chances and go with it.

Im guessing a lucky fold but I dont know these players or the situation

I will fold my rockets when I see 4 flush cards on the board and none of my aces dont suit up. I usually try to get as many chips as possible into the pot preflop. Im raising on the flop and im reraising any raise.

If Im raised again I'll probably take a closer look at the cards but generally im going with it to the end. AA is the best preflop hand, nothing more so as long as I play it right early, i generally just mark the other player down as a jammy git.

Good strategy, but what exactly is a 'jammy git'??

Woops, you should have pushed before it gets to 4 flush cards on the board so it shouldnt matter.

You should have enough in the pot to warrant your push.

Just keep the pot odds on your side and you shouldnt really be put in that situation.

I know it happens at times but in general, you should be able to avoid that dilema.

Folding rockets situation.

I was discussing a situation the other day and im like WTF?

3 players left in a decent tourney....

(my blinds structure is fictional but I had to make it up to give you my not so made up story)

blinds 1000/2000

chipleader 60000

player 1 30000

player 2 3000

Chipleader has AA. Player 1 folds. Player 2 goes allin. chipleader folds AA

Im wondering why? The answer, chipleader was grinding down player 1, and by doing so had to keep player 2 in. it worked out and she won.

Im not a fan of that strategy. I want to finish them there and then, but its an option. HU eventually ends up with coin flip situations, she just wanted a few extra coin flips

I played in a No Limit Stud tourney last night. Over 6,000 players and I was knocked out in the top 500 after over 2 hours of play.

I decided to hold on to my rockets in one hand that boosted my chips.
I just played normal poker. Called a bet on the turn when another A came out, giving me trips.
On the River a bet was made, and then I doubled it. Two players went all in and I called to take the pot.

One player showed he matched his A and the other mucked.

I just threw in here that I don't usually fold rockets, unless there's a strait showing on the board.

I normally get taken out with rockets, when someone gets two pair or higher. I got lucky this time with the trips on the turn card.
