God I can make some huge laydowns.
Ok, I went to the casino tonight. Just got back actually. So here I am at a $2/$5 NL table (don't even start, I know I shouldn't have been there. I was just killing time till the $1/$2NL got enough players. But hey, I took them for over $100 before I moved to the $1/$2) I get dealt J6 os in the BB. A bunch of players limp and I check. The flop came A-6-8. I check and it checks around. The turn was a J which also put a flush draw on the board. I throw $20 out there for my two pair. 1 player calls, then another raises to $60. I'm sitting there thinking for like 5 minutes. And what do I do? I whisper what I had to the player next to me as I throw it in the muck. The other player folded after me and the raiser takes it down. The player next to me then asked me why the hell I threw away my two pair there. I told him cause the guy that raised had a set of 6's. All the raiser did was wink at me, then I knew I made the right play.

I only play for fake chips... they are usually stale anyway.

Here's an even better one. I was playing $1/$2 NL tonight andI got KK in middle position. I raise to $8 and get 2 callers. One in the CO and one in the BB. The flop comes Js-6c-4h. The BB checks and I bet $20. The CO raises to $50 and then the BB calls. I then fold. The turn is the 4d. The BB checks again and the CO then moves in for like $80 more. The player in the BB nearly beat him to the middle with his chips as he flipped over 6's full to beat the CO's pocket Aces. Whew, that was a close one

Ok, here we go again.
I just got back from playing $1/$2 NL at the casino. I got dealt KK in second position. The player UTG folds and I raise to $8. Fold, Fold, and a player re-pops to $22. Fold, Fold, Call, Fold and the action is back on me. I re-raise again making it $45 all day. The next player then re-raises once more making it $80. The caller folds and so do I showing him my Kings. He then flipped over his Aces.

The first laydown...This guy seems to slow play his hand. Otherwise, he has a good read on you and recognized you as a tight player and maybe might have tried to bluff. You are beat by A 6, A 8, J 8, AA, JJ, 88 and 66. He's unlikely to have AA or JJ because he would've raised on pre-flop. There's a good possibility that he has trips. There's also flush and straight draws. Good fold here.

I find good folds so much more satisfying than winning big pots as anyone can win a pot when they have a monster hand, folding a big hand to a greater hand takes some skill though

And yet another :
$2/$5 NL Table
Hero is UTG+1 with 88
Hero raises to $20
MP2 calls
Button calls
Flop 8-10-Q
Hero bets $50
MP2 raises to $120
Button calls
Hero Folds (this took me at least 5 minutes to do)
Turn 5
MP2 moves all-in
Button calls
MP2 shows 10-10 for a set of 10's
Button shows J-9 for the nut straight
The river doesnt pair the board and the straight takes it home.
Whew, that was close.
And yeah Deco, I agree. I mean any idiot off the street could win a big hand with trip aces, but it takes a truly great player to be able to lay them down.
