Default Hidden Chips cost me $100

Ok, I'm still at the casino playing the $2/$5 game like I talked about in my other post. I got dealt 3c2c on the button. Several players limped and so did I. The flop comes K-3-2. BINGO Baby. One player bets $20 and I raised him to $50 and it folds back to him and he calls. The turn was a Jack. He checks to me and I bet $70. He calls and for some reason this guy thinks I'm all-in and turns his cards face up. I mean my chips were sorta hidden behind my cup holder, but still you should never turn your cards over until the dealer says to. I mean nobody ever said anything about being all-in. He had AK btw. Anyways, he takes his cards back and we see a river. The river was a 3 of course. So he checks, and I bet my last $100. Of course he folds. I mean I did see his hand after all. So because this guy flips his cards over, I don't get paid off on the river.

Edit : Also, I have no idea what this guy was doing limpin from MP with AK.

dumb players are every where but there is noting you can do about dumb luck. with play like that I'm sure he gave someone the rest of his chips later anyway .

I really don't think is guy was watching very good , however he may have thought he had you , with the K's and A high . and this could have been his way of not putting anymore money into the pot. the thing could have been an act. or maybe like you sd if your chips was behind your cup holder , he thought you was allin

I flip my cards at home games now and again and ask them whether they can beat it... then call/raise or whatever from their reaction

I thought once you flipped your cards in the middle of a hand they were dead or is that just in tournament play?

If cards are flipped face up, they are live. If however, you show your cards to your neighbor or they cross the action line face down, they are considered dead. If you have to make a really tough decision, you can flip your cards face up and judge the reaction of the other player to help make your decision. Doyle even recommends this play in SSII

I tend to do it when someone's gone all-in on river and I have a decent hand and wanna get an idea of what they've got. My mate Stu always lets me know if I'm beat or not when I do this
