Knowing your opponent... a bad thing??

Here you go... from tonights FLOP game at Fred...

Me and Betty are chip leaders on about 16k each...... then comes this hand.......

Normally I limp with low pp's but we're now short-handed and I got the chips so I min raise utg..... only caller is Betty in the small blind.....

Betty checks and I bet the pot 3k - Betty re-raises me all-in. It takes me a while but I decide to call thinking Betty has nothing or has a draw at best.... my instincts with Betty are usually good so I was fairly confident.....

I'm ahead... woo hoo... I'm out... boo hoo.......

What do you reckon to both our plays?............... (top 3 were paid by the way if you think it makes a difference)

Ok , IC I really did think I had the K9 . I no you think I am kidding , but when I looked at the flop . I saw 3 9's. but, If I had looked closer I probably would have called that $3K bet having chip lead with 4 spades .

It's being happening for the last 6 months mate... I must have slept with the poker gods wife or something cos I'm getting raped at every table I play.... here's todays example for you......

I'm fed up with it... it balances out in the end is bullshit cos I've got the short end of the stick all this year and we're over half way through now so it can't

well the JJ hand should have raised preflop. and just taken the blinds better to win little then lose it all.

well i change my play all the time for that reason
and the worse hand seems to be the better hand latly
cant explain it
the last game when i finished second was funny cause when i big raise
a medium hand some short stack would call and i would get my flop

I dont like bettys call pf although she likes to gamble a lot, I dont like your all in call with the flop beating your hand. The point of mid pairs imho is to see the flop cheap and try to hit a set (which hides your hands strength).

Neither one of you was short stacked /shrug

the 2nd hand I would have raised decent to see where I was.

OMG what are you saying , you butthead. Havn't you seen that my game has changed a bit. I really have not been bluffing at all . maybe 2 or 3 times in and entire game.and when I re-raised you should have folded , thinking that I hit the trips . However . like you say because it was me, you didn't . and I no why . You have beaten me so many times on the river hitting the pocket pair

I can actually vouch for this. I also call very loosely against Betty cause I used to think she's full of it but lately she's had the goods.
