Default The value of aggression

Just a couple quick hands I've played recently that illustrate what aggression will do for you. These are all playing live $2/$5 NL.

Hand #1

I get dealt 66 in MP. It folds to me so I raise to $15. I get one caller from the SB. The flop is 4-Q-4. He bets $25 and I raise to $60. He folds and shows me J-J.

Hand #2

I have 55 in Mid-late position. There's one limper and I raise to $20. It folds to the limper who calls. The flop is A-J-3. He checks and I bet $30. He mentioned something about no kicker and folds. I show him the 5-5 and he says he folded A-6s.

Hand #3

I get dealt QJs on the button. Two limpers and I raise to $18. One of the limpers call and the flop is K-J-7. The limper bets $25 and I raise to $50. He shows me his K-10s when he folds.

Hand #4

I got Ac-6c in late position. One player raises to $15, one caller and I call. The flop is 10c-5c-7h. It checks to me and I bet $35. One player calls. The turn is the 9d. He checks and I bet $85. He says "So you got a set, huh?" and folds.

Yes but in hand two you shouldnt of shown your cards....

Never show your cards the longer you can play without showing your cards the stronger your position is at the table.....

I've been playing with the same guys every week for like 4 months now. I highly doubt showing that hand tarnished my image with them.

The need for aggression is an overated myth... patience and solid tight play will win you more money in the long run.

i.e. play the opposite of me and you're on the right track

I highly doubt that with patience and solid tight play, that by the end of the night you have half the table willing to call you down with bottom pair.

I dunno, but apparently some of them don't have a very good read on me. I got one regular there who WILL NOT play a hand with me if I raise. My new strategy is killer against these guys. I always love hearing them try to put me on a hand now. Cause they are about 3 miles in the wrong direction. Apparently these guys arent very well aquanted with LAG play. Like tonight I was playing and I raise PF with J-10s. I whiffed on the flop but it checks to me so I take a 1/2 pot stab at it. One caller and the Turn is a K. Caller checks again and I take a bigger stab, like almost pot sized. He says "So that AK finally hit something" (cause I'm always complaining about that hand) and shows me 99 when he folds. Then I finally did hit a flop (amazingly) I had A-9 and hit the 9 for top pair. There was 2 clubs on board so I bet the pot. It folds around and this one player says "You scared them all off with your flush draw" Come on dude, why would I give myself break even odds on a flush draw? Oh, and this other hand I completed from the SB with 9-6os and flopped an OE Straight Draw and I check-raised some guy just cause I'm crazy like that. He had me sweating cause he looked like he was counting out a raise but then he says "nice catch" and folds. I was like "What did I catch?" he says "A set of 7's". I just smiled and collected my chips. And if you think these guys are bad, you should see this other game I played once. Like 90% of the flops there go unraised. A bunch of scared players. If it wasnt a 4 hour drive, I'd DEFINATELY be playing that game way more often. Seriously, I'm thinking about never playing online again. Live games are much more fun.

I can see the 1st guy laying his jj down but the guy in hand 2 is an idiot..if hes gonna call your raise preflop with ace6 then he needs to continue playing when he gets his ace . hand 3 i might have had to call u with my kings
