I make a sweet fold. Perhaps standard, I was 100% sure someone had JQ here since everyone plays them for any raise...but I seldom manage to lay them rockets down in these cheapo SNG:s...

Nice laydown. I made quite a nice one the other night.

I'm at the casino playing $1/$2 NL. I'm hovering somwhere around $150 ($100 is the max buy-in). I pick up KK in middle position. I raise to $10, and the CO and BB both call.

FLOP

The BB checks and I bet out $25. The CO raises to $65 and the BB FLAT CALLS! So anyways, I know as soon as the action gets to me that the BB has a set. I grudingly lay down my Cowboys. All the money goes in to the middle when the turn comes out. The CO turned over his Aces (No idea why he didn't re-raise me before the flop) and was badly disappointed shortly thereafter when the BB turned over his set of ducks. Anyways, I pat myself on the back for not going broke on that hand. Go Me!

Making these types of laydwons actually feels better than picking up a small pot with these premiums. Nh sir.

As i haven't played poker for more then a year now I have to agree that sometimes laying down a hand like AA or KK can be more rewarding then winning with them. The fact that players call a pre-flop raise with pocket 2's is sometimes frustrating but when they actually catch trips on the flop is irritating. The fact u can read u'r opponents hand is great ! Hope to be able to do this as good as u do someday !

i'm still a donkey... my girlfriend makes me fast play when i don't want to cuz she gotta go do something... i wish i had more free time to devote to poker, but those cheap entry tourneys are crazy. you play for 9 or 10 hours just to win $300...

Nice lay down.
I was trying to put them on a hand each while reading that but failed due to their poor play.

MP2 shouldn't be calling an early position raise from early position with QJ :P

While I think regardless of having an overpair the BB should have realised he was beat when he was raised and reraised, also as he was out of position after the flop the KK should have been reraised preflop

Am overanalysing everything as I need to get used to doing it again
anyhows gd fold i shall commence in reading DSV's post for more practise

wow very nice laydown DSV, I can see the appeal in playing at a casino now you can make observations like that as the players aren't idiots, online I wouldnt be surprised if the BB flipped over AK

I gotta admit I would have missed the significance of the flat call myself and lost the hand, I need to start thinking less of my own hand and more of my opponents hand.
