Default Lately Pot Holdem

Lately I've been playing quite a lot of Pot Holdem. It didn't use to be on my list of games but I have rethought my position and now have added it to my list of favorites. Limit however still evades me. Why raise every time around the table? Makes no sense to me at all.

I agree, I used to play only NL but have been playing in limit games lately and I prefer pot limit.

yes pot limit holdem is a very fun I play it mostly at ring games though. I prefer NL holdem during touraments, but besides that I love playing pot limit. You can stay at a table for a longer time and for beginers its a great way to learn the game

Honestly I'm not sure what to make of pot limit. I "get" limit, it's mathematical and all about making the right decisions at the right time with really very little opportunity to bluff or scare away draws. I "get" no limit (and prefer it), because you can precisely bet anything you want at any time. I'm not really sure what the advantage of pot limit would be. If often ends up being basically no limit with a few loose players...

pot limit wastes time, especially at bar tourneys, where they want you to spent more
no limit does suck on Freerolls where everyone thinks their the best and chase crap,
great players shouldnt be beat by bad calls

Pot Limit is one of my favorite limits to play. I typically do very well in them and usually make final table if I don't go out in the 1st hand I step into.

I prefer limit games when i play ring games as it tends to keep me in the game longer.....I just seem to do better with them there. At tournys i prefer no limit........it does speed them up a bit and gets rid of a lot of all inners quickly....

I don't like pot as much as NL, because when I finally have a good hand after a few hours of a tourny, I want to go all in, but most the time in pot limit, you can't go all in, and when you finally get a winning hand, you don't make as much as you would have.

I still only play NL holdem games, but might consider to star varying my play now a little. I might give pot liimiit and limit holdem a try, and see how it works out.

Maybe it will earn me cash, and i wont meet the lunatics that i find at the NL holdem talbes.

I'm for the NL too... strike when the iron is hot... limit makes me a bit bored with raise-raise-raise each round... a bit monotonous for my short attention span, maybe .....ofcourse, if youre wrong and all in, you can only be wrong- ONCE...
