It's been a while since I've played at
Full Tilt poker, so a couple days ago I gave them a try by playing in one of their play money Pot Limit Hold'em tournaments.
Buy-in was 250 + 25, with 1 re-buy and 1 addon.
There were some 500+ poker players starting this free money tournament and I ended up going out in 139th after 1 re-buy and over an hour of poker play.
One key thing to remember in any poker game, and I told myself this as I moved up in the ranks, when you go up against a player with a stack that's larger than yours, try your best to fold if you pushes you all in.
I had the best hand until the river card (again), but this other player had an Ace and he got his ace at the end.
Ok, just finished another tournament (rather quickly) and the saying still goes; don't go all in with QQ in your hand.
I raised preflop and two others called.
Flop came 895 all diamonds. I bet pot with my QQ and the player two chairs over put me all in.
He was holding Ad6c.
The Turn; Qd
The River; 2d
All I was hoping for on the river card was an 8, 9, or 5 to complete my full house and stuff these players who think the Ace is top dog (and it usually is).
Didn't work...I got myself knocked out in one of Full Tilt's Main Event Race Round 1 tournaments.
These tournaments are freerolls towards a WSOP seat for people like myself who can't afford the big bucks buy-in.
Wouldn't do me much good when the cards are against me. All I can do is try again.
Just once I'd like to stuff those aces back into the deck after a win.
