Default K-high flush on flop, great action

0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
5 folds, CO raises, 1 fold, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) , , (3 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, CO raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls, CO caps, SB calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (9 BB) (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, CO calls, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, CO folds, SB calls.

River: (19 BB) (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Did not like to see that board pairing on the river, but did I put the brakes on too fast?

The only thing I can see I would have done different is I would have capped the flop (Just to be the aggressor).

I hate the pair on river also and I don't blame ya for slowing down but I can't imagine this player doing all that betting with a set and a flush showing.

My guess would be lower flush or two pair. (Him having the nut flush is possible but what are the odds  )

I think you made a good call with that extra 9 on the river Biscuit.

If that 5 of spades were perhaps a J of spades, then raise the pot.

Many of us have called with a river card like that and beaten by a full house or your opponent has the AX of spades as well, or the nut flush as propiper mentioned. I have seen this several times thinking my K-high flush would take it.

But since you mentioned that your K-high flush had great action, I am thinking you won this pot.

I thought about capping the flop, but CO had been very aggro pre-flop with blind steals and whatnot, and I was trying to keep him in the hand. I liked him capping the flop, though.
