I've met a few grinders while playing online tourneys.

They're the ones that will be in for a couple of hands and win, and then either sit out for a few hands or fold for a few. And then come back to win another hand before folding.

I've had several of these grinders beat me down in tournaments without realizing it. I just thought the player was watching the game and sorta counting cards or something, but they were waiting for an AJ or higher before playing and then make a pot bet.

That kind of p-isses me off because I would be playing at one or two tables, and this one person would start playing out of nowhere and start taking down pots.

The only time you can keep a grinder from grinding at your table, is to play tight when you have a good hand while he's betting, and then win the pot.

This sometimes will slow down a grinder, but don't it all the time, he's usually a tight agressive player and may take all of your chips by reversing the same play.

ya know, I've been having a lot of fun low-rolling at the .05/.10 and .10/.20 limit hold'em tables.

I've actually been surprised....most of the players aren't total donks....I would be expecting a lot more, especially at that level..

But, you do run into a few that will see every flop, no matter if it's for 1 or 4 bets.

Where do you make the cut-off on your betting beaston?

If I'm not getting action from my cards, AK, AQ or AJ, I will usually play smaller connectors too; 34s, 56s or 78s, and sometimes play middle connection cards not suited.

And sometimes when I don't play my off cards, 72os, 39os, or another bad combo, I will usually catch a pair or trips if I had played them and won the pot, after seeing the play-through.

What does a person do, when every other hand they fold is a bad hand, but it would have won the pot if they stay?

These kind of games is what gets me to just bet every hand for a time, and then I'm down to half a chip stack before I stop betting.
When I stop I will get the winning hand again.

I need to start playing backwards, when I think the hand will win, fold, when I think the hand is a total mess, bet it.
