Preflop: Hero is SB with , . UTG posts a blind of $7.
UTG (poster) checks, 7 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG folds.

Flop: (5.40 SB) , , (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (3.70 BB) (2 players)
Hero bets, BB raises,

It's possible that BB also caught an A on the turn, but what kind of kicker does he have? Hero should call this one and see what the river brings him.

I am willing to bet that BB has a smaller kicker and hero will take this pot.

I agree, even though since it's the BB he could very well have a King.

Imho it's also very possible to be a total bluff, since calling on the flop and raising the turn with a scary board is something I'd do.

What happened next?

Since it was the BB, it was a good possibility since I guess most players wouldn't have called preflop without figure cards.

I guess in retrospective, maybe call on the turn (as we all agreed on) and then check-fold on the river if he bet. I'm not 100% sure what the best play would have been on the river since the pot must have been decent already..

I think if you call the turn you have to call the river.

At the 2/4 tables I almost never see a turn raise or check raise from a hand that does not beat top pair. At higher limits you might get some more trickery, but at 2/4 its pretty ABC.
