Default Whacky Little Session

I was 5-tabling last night. 3 $1/2 FRLH tables on the Merge Network, a $1/2 FRLH table and a $2/4 FRLH table on Cake. I don't normally play that many tables, but I was feeling frisky last night, I guess. I have the Cake reload to work off, and I want to qualify for the Sunday freerolls at Merge this month.

I was getting mercilessly crushed at two of the Merge tables. On one table I had two flopped sets go down to runner runner flushes. On the other I got into a blind defense with 74s, flopped my flush, and was already behind to the nut flush. That was just evil (and expensive).

I did manage to be up a bit at one Merge table. Like double my buy-in.

At the Cake $1/2 table I was destroying it! I went up $44 in 34 hands. Unfortunately that table fell apart, and I had to quit it.

At the $2/4 table I was gradually drifiting downward. I was off about $30 or so when I decided to quit playing for the night, being up across the board by $4. I was off all the other tables and UTG (last hand) at the $2/4 table I picked up 66. I limped in, got raised, and 4 of us saw the flop for $4.

633

I slow-played to the turn and took two guys to showdown and won a nice $57 pot (after rake). Logged off up $62

Poker: swingier than a swing!

Five tables is a bit much for me to play, unless it's playing 3 and then playing 2, but playing them all at the same time makes it hard to concentrate on the cards.

I've probably mentioned before that I use to play 3 tables at a time. It gets rather difficult when one or two of them are down to the last table in a tourney, or if they are turbo tables. But if you are feeling frisky, I guess it wouldn't matter too much.

But it sounds like you had a little gravy added on to end the night. Good deal.

i find the disadvantage between playing too many tables is you tend to lose track of how each player plays on each table. i know that i tend to have little "rivalrys" on some tables when i am playing with other players, which usually turns out good if you are patient and get a good read on them

When I multi-play 5-6 tables it is no longer about whom is there, more like ABC poker to me.

Raise when your suppose to, fold when you miss, nothing fancy.

2-3 tables though I find I can tell more "whom" I'm playing with and make the bluffs, etc.

Each way has its advantages I guess. 6 tabling, to me, is just for the bankroll boost(Hopefully!) - not really paying to much attention. I run Pokertracker so let the numbers decide.
