Default Anatomy of a terrible hand

Here's a hand I played earlier. Changed my name. It's one of those hands you don't like to play, that fall in the 20% hands where you don't know if you're trailing by a lot. I'll try to explain why I played this way.

Full Tilt Poker Game #8043145162: Table Fulton - $3/$6 Ante $0.50 - Limit Razz - 14:18:59 ET - 2008/09/12
Seat 1: Lucky Giggles ($63)
Seat 2: Fortinbras1 ($116.50)
Seat 3: Cool Lau ($145.50)
Seat 4: djp55 ($44.50)
Seat 5: donktheclown ($84.50)
Seat 6: grasshopper321 ($84)
djp55 antes $0.50
Lucky Giggles antes $0.50
Fortinbras1 antes $0.50
Cool Lau antes $0.50
grasshopper321 antes $0.50
donktheclown antes $0.50
*** 3RD STREET ***
Dealt to Lucky Giggles [7c]
Dealt to Fortinbras1 [6h]
Dealt to Cool Lau [Ks]
Dealt to djp55 [Kc]
Dealt to donktheclown [5d 2d] [6c]
Dealt to grasshopper321 [9d]
Cool Lau is high with [Ks]
Cool Lau brings in for $1
djp55 folds
donktheclown calls $1
grasshopper321 calls $1
Lucky Giggles folds
Fortinbras1 completes it to $3
Cool Lau folds
donktheclown raises to $6
grasshopper321 calls $5
Fortinbras1 raises to $9
donktheclown raises to $12
grasshopper321 calls $6
Fortinbras1 calls $3

I'm the second player to talk. The last 2 players have cards similar to mine, 7 and 6. I choose to check raise because people don't do it often and it confuses people. You can often squeeze calls from players with higher cards than yours. I thought the guy with a 7 would call or raise. It's pretty standard here for the last player with the lowest card to raise and either win outright or put pressure.

Fortinbras reraises me to 6$. The guy to my left already called 5$ more so it makes sense to raise it to the max to either make him fold (throwing away his 6$ uncontested in the pot) or make him add even more dead money. Because of the reraise, I figure Fortinbras' hand is automatically 2 low cards probably beating my 6-5-2. But because no A, 3 or 4 were turned up by other players I'm likely to pick up one of them.

*** 4TH STREET ***
Dealt to Fortinbras1 [6h] [4d]
Dealt to donktheclown [5d 2d 6c] [8s]
Dealt to grasshopper321 [9d] [2h]
Fortinbras1 bets $3
donktheclown calls $3
grasshopper321 calls $3

The dreaded, "I draw the worst card" street. Fortinbras gets one of my 4s. However the pot contains 40$ so 3$ is an automatic call especially since 86 is playable (even though terrible).

*** 5TH STREET ***
Dealt to Fortinbras1 [6h 4d] [3d]
Dealt to donktheclown [5d 2d 6c 8s] [3c]
Dealt to grasshopper321 [9d 2h] [9c]
Fortinbras1 bets $6
donktheclown calls $6
grasshopper321 calls $6

Here I catch a 3, but he does too. Grasshopper throws more dead money in the pot and sweetens it a lot for me. I'm upset at the fact Fortinbras shows 3 lows but I'm drawing to a 6 low, my needed cards are still live, and he would have had to start with A26 starting hand to be really ahead and unpaired. Since I have a 2 and Grasshopper has a 2, it's possible but less likely. Automatic call despite not liking it.

*** 6TH STREET ***
Dealt to Fortinbras1 [6h 4d 3d] [As]
Dealt to donktheclown [5d 2d 6c 8s 3c] [Tc]
Dealt to grasshopper321 [9d 2h 9c] [8c]
Fortinbras1 bets $6
donktheclown: hahahaha
donktheclown: obviously
donktheclown calls $6
grasshopper321 folds

Here I get really frustrated at drawing the worst card once again. He draws one of the cards I need, again. It's now likely that he's paired either the 3 or the A because what else would he have reraised to 12$ preflop? I hate being behind and having to draw but it costs 6$ in a 70$ pot so I have to call.

*** 7TH STREET ***
Dealt to donktheclown [5d 2d 6c 8s 3c Tc] [Qs]
Fortinbras1 bets $6
donktheclown: insane
donktheclown calls $6

Once again I draw the worst card possible, not improving from a 86 low. I hate calling but given the cards he had on the board, I'm sure he paired at least one. On top of it it's still 6$ in a pot that's now 82$ so as you can figure out, you don't need to win often to make this call worth it.

*** SHOW DOWN ***
Fortinbras1 shows [Kd 3s 6h 4d 3d As Ad] K,6,4,3,A
donktheclown shows [Qs 5d 6c 8s 3c Tc 2d] 8,6,5,3,2
donktheclown wins the pot ($88) with 8,6,5,3,2
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $91 | Rake $3
Seat 1: Lucky Giggles folded on 3rd St.
Seat 2: Fortinbras1 showed [Kd 3s 6h 4d 3d As Ad] and lost with K,6,4,3,A
Seat 3: Cool Lau folded on 3rd St.
Seat 4: djp55 folded on 3rd St.
Seat 5: donktheclown showed [Qs 5d 6c 8s 3c Tc 2d] and won ($88) with 8,6,5,3,2
Seat 6: grasshopper321 folded on 6th St.

He was pretty unlucky to have double paired. I would normally have folded but Grasshopper's calling until 5th street sweetened the pot so much that the odds made me call the whole time.

Overall, a terrible hand with a good outcome.

Very lucky, indeed I guess I'm a tighter player when it comes to Razz, because I might have folded my 56 to his 46 showing. But, you're right, there was so much in the pot it was definitely worth a call. Then when you both hit a 3, it draws you in for the long haul....lol

You can't fold on 4th street when it's still a half bet and you're paying less than 1/10th of the pot, versus a single opponent. Unless you're massively behind in which case you shouldn't have been to 4th street. His odds of pairing or getting a face card are much higher than 10%, which would make you ahead.

Of course without Grasshopper's calls, the pot would have been much less attractive.
