Default Boost America's Economy with Legal Online Poker

Hello all

I found this at another forum but felt that everyone should see

If we don't speak up, we might not be playing!..

It can't hurt as long as we think before we type.

Boost America's Economy with Legal Online Poker

Let online poker players in the United States play legally and
without fear of prosecution.
Reform the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act to exempt poker,
a game of skill, from the law. Boost the economy by letting American
companies and Ameican players make money and pay taxes instead of
sending online poker businesses offshore. Protect online poker players by
regulating the industry to ensure that no one is ever cheated.

I'm not sure you will see legal online gambling anytime soon. I can see a lot of bad PR coming from saving the American economy with gambling.

What I do see as plausible is the dropping of the enforcement part of the UIGEA as being a "non-priority" thus making the law unenforceable.

Obama mentioned looking at all the "midnight" bills and seeing which made sense and which were fluff. I can see it being reversed that way also.

Then, letting the industry grow again then legalizing it once the growth is back and levying taxes on a viable growing resource.

Like a "If you build it..We will tax it" motto.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for Obama announcing that legalizing online gambling is a major part of his economic stimulus program

I agree with everything you mention here!

Only thing i'd like to add is PartyPoker was my favorite site to play intill they pullout and stop all USA from playing a few years back, I also liked Paridise, and can't play their now either.
I believe that we need to speak up their are many trying to put a end to onlinepoker, an have some pretty solid issues behind their statements, people that don't play aint going to help us, no-ones going to help hold ground on issuse in the future if we don't take part in it..
Its time to take a few minutes and REPRESENT, we have people fighting for the right to play online poker, Thats the ONLY reason why USA can still play at some sites today, and these people like
pokerplayersalliance
are begging for us to step foward and help.

It can't hurt as long as we think first, I just don't want to feel that I didn't try.
