Default Down in Tampa

I, too, am traveling. Not nearly as fun as Beaston, who is in Vegas, but its a big step up for me as far as access to live poker goes. Of course, the only regular live poker where I live in Virginia is a Tuesday and Thursday night tournament at a local smokey bar, where the entry is free, you play for points and the point leader at the end of the year gets a $1500 buy-in to a WSOP event. But you have to sit for hours in the smoke chamber, and I can't tolerate it.

I am in Tampa until Friday and there is real live poker here. Both cash and tournaments. The premier place to play is the Hard Rock Casino run by the Seminole Indians. Their tournament buy-ins are a bit high for my cheapness, so I will probably play at one of the Greyhound Tracks where they offer some $65 buy-in tournaments and some $2/4 cash games.

Wish me luck!

My friend lives in Ft. Lauderdale, and I'm not sure if it's the same Hard Rock casino there, but he was telling me that the max buy-in for poker games is $100, even at the $5/10 tables.....weird.

Anyhoo, GOOD LUCK! and may all your cards be live and your pots be big

Last time I was in Tampa ( a few years ago) there was a "gambling cruise" you could take out for the day and play.

A lot of the locals recommended it but not sure it is still there.

Good Luck - I never went to the Hard Rock but looks like it could be good tournaments.

Lets us know about your riches!

Of all things! I was actually expected to work on this business trip. UGH!

I had to be up at 0400 every morning, so I only ventured out once. I played some $2/4 and made $37 before calling it a night.

Morten's theorem was in effect.
