Default The good, the bad and the Gus

Supporting my theory that top pros are lucky above average. Antonio is like, "wtf?".. "the guy has lost his mind"..

Well, the thing is, it was a tournament, and not a cash game

Let's face it. Gus loves to gamble. He probably put Antonio on a small pocket pair, and went with that read. If he was right, then he was only about a 2-3% underdog in that situation. Worst case scenario is that Antonio had AK, 99 or a bigger pair, which would make him a big underdog. He definitely got lucky.

My theory:

Gus got greedy, and it actually paid off for him. He saw a chance to take out the #2 chip stack and take a dominating lead.

It was a winner take all, qualifier tournament but it was still a really dumb play.

No doubt. It was a horrible play, but I can understand his reasoning, as warped as it is...lol

I guess Gus figured he had more outs. It was a sick call, but he got lucky and that's what counts.
