Talking Nice HORSE tourney

I always love getting these in my mailbox...lol

I was CL for over 2 hours, but the cards went south at the FT...oh well, it was still fun!

Is anyone playing in the SCOOP HORSE event this week (Sunday) at PokerStars?

Good job again beaston.

I don't like the looks of their prize pool payouts.

You made it in 3rd place with less than $80 as prize money.
I would think with over $700 in prize pool money you would get at least $100 or so for finishing in 3rd place.

I wonder how they figure in the prize amounts, by percentage?
I guess that would be the only fair way for payouts.

I don't get it. Take today for an example.

$5.50 R&A, over 27K entrants, over $450K in prizes.

Top 5400 got paid.

Payouts started at $17 and change, and went up at the rate of about $4 per ~600 people knocked out, if I remember right.

This was a 6 players / table tourney, so the FT would only consist of, you guessed it, 6 players.

Keep in mind: $450K in the prize pool!

~$3000 for 6th, up to $41K for 1st.

They need to get off their duffs and change their payout %'s, especially when it comes to large tournaments. I played for over 5.5 hours, finished in the top 8%, and got a whopping $39 and change.

Keep in mind that @ .50 a pop, they made over $13,500 in rake alone for this single tournament.

Hey beaston, let's you and I get together and start a poker site.

With those kind of prices, in about 10 years we could be multi-millionaires too!

I know, they have all kinds of advertising and ceo's to pay, not to mention the buy-in's, air fair and misc. stuff for their top players to play in the many world tournaments.

I guess the list could go on, but I would think the top ten tables would get the most of the prize pools. Or with 27k players, at least the top 30 tables with the highest payouts.

The more the payouts are spread out among 5400 players, that leaves less for those who spent all those hours to get less than $100.
I think it should have been spread out among the top 2700 players. But that's just my thinking.

The method to their madness: The more places that get paid; means more re-buys for those who try to make it further up the ladder.
Thus more income for their site.
